I made a bag for my PEN coz I couldn find a nice one in the market.. at least now I feel safer for it to mingle with the sharp objects in my handbag..

nice bag!!! How come you use the 14-42mm lens? You should get 17mm f/2.8. Its smaller for your
handbag. Now I only use 17mm. Don't bother to use 14-42mm. Too big to lug around. I hang the camera
on my neck when i do street photography...and no one really bother me... seems like its a good street
camera haha...

Ah... that sounds more like it. I would prefer the GF1+20mm though. But at the same time the EP-1's (dual lens kit) pricing is pretty attractive now.
*
You want dSLR performance in AF department, I advice to get GF1. And you don't need kitlens. With my E-P1, I never
bother to use kitlens. KItlens is heavy to me as street shooter. WIth 17mm f/2.8, I can basically walkaround hanging
on my neck without looking weird. It look like P&S.

Here is the photo I shoot while in Koh Samui:

shoulda woulda coulda.. I got this one coz it's the one I can get on short notice. I didn't know I could get pancake lens set instead. and to get both lenses set is a bit too pricey for me.. I do intend to get the 14mm hopefully by november..

wish I can pre-order the panasonic one but RM1900 is still too steep for me *sigh*

Olympus is cheaper right? but the aperture is smaller i believe? also what other differences?

slightly cheaper alternative, I can get an adapter and use other lenses but then it'll be bulkier lah

I used my camera to take my sis' engagement (was photographer and videographer of the day) and wow-ed everyone from taking the photos/videos to hooking up to the Full HD LCD TV for the slide show and HD movie clips at the end of the day. I even impressed myself too. The camera is really impressive lah!!

I did have problems taking photos under the sun.. I can't see much on the LCD
*
Olympus 17mm f/2.8 is around RM650~700. Sure its cheaper. Haha... 20mm f/1.7 is too expensive... not really that worth if you're
not that picky person because I really love my 17mm f/2.8.

The different is Panasonic is sharper, and aperture bigger than Olympus.

No other brand already. If you want small lens, it is just Olympus 17mm or Panasonic 20mm.

With olympus 17mm, you get a free optical viewfinder. Then you won't have problem with taking photo under the sun.... thumbup.gif

My wish list....

Lumix G Vario HD 7-14mm F/4.0 (arrive by next week)
Lumix G Vario HD 14-140mm F/4.0-5.8(pending on buying)
Lumix G Vario HD 20 F/1.7(pending on buying)

I own a White E-P1, 14-42mm F/3.5-5.6 and 17mm f2.8, FL-30R.....

Item from Panasonic is really hard to buy immediately. You have to wait for 1 week at least....Cause the lens come from Japan.
*
nice...

7-14mm is really good... notworthy.gif how much u get it?

I'm sorry to give you high hope..... sweat.gif

unfortunately, I got it 2nd hand from this guy:
http://www.photomalaysia.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93173

Since he already sold it to me, I guess there's no more....

You need to try your luck second hand. sad.gif some people might sell this to get panasonic 20mm f/1.7...

meanwhile, u just have to bear with the big kit lens. I just feel its too big lor...

ohh.. that makes more sense.. hehe. no worries.. I'll just wait patiently..

from someone who previously lunges the sony alpha with kit lense everywhere she goes, oly pen + kit lense is actually very light and very small. I want pancake coz it's just too SWEEET! Pictures taken with it looks so awesome.

I guess I should go stalk photomalaysia forum now hehehe
*
haha, not only photomalaysia la. Got a lot of forum such as this forum. tongue.gif and others like:

Yeah, pancake is awesome because of big aperture... here is pic taken with my oly pancake:

After looking on the review......

IQ still superior on Olympus side........Panasonic still need to work hard to improve their IQ.......Personally i still prefer oly lens to Pana lens.

Some rumors is flying around the website.....Olympus might have a E-P2 with IVF and IFlash......We need to wait patiently to have good camera....

I might try to switch my Nikon to fully Olympus m4/3 end of this year.........
*
Camera can be upgrade. Lost opportunity will never come back. Haha....

Actually some people also like you. Switch fully to m4/3 camera because of the size... I lost interest
in photography with Canon 40D because its just too big.... now with E-P1, I'm back into photography hobby,... haha

Not sure if you know this. There's a Olympus profile for Panasonic camera. You can download it to get Olympus IQ.

How good it is, I'm not sure though.

That's third party. It's around RM80 to RM90....

Some are cheaper. But the one I got is whooping 3200mAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can use for 2 days before charge.. (but no testing is done)...

But I can assure you that it is at least as long as the ori.

Wah, ori RM280 is a lot....!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, I like the lisa pic. Which lens you use? Did you have polarizer? Your blue sky seems nicer than mine.
Any setting you use? PASM?

didn't use any polarizer for my Koh Samui trip. Honeymoon trip, cannot spend too much time on taking photos.  laugh.gif

me brought all my lenses, found that around 80% are using kit lens only.

40-150mm, 25mm, 17mm most of the time just sleeping in my bag laugh.gif
*
haha, I think because the kitlens is the most versatile (can zoom and can wide angle 28mm effective) in a very small package...

wow, you got adapter to 40-150? How much you pay for the adapter? did u bring E-P1 only? Do you have other camera besides
E-P1 (I mean, all camera you have, whether you brought to Koh Samui or not)...?

I went to cameron today and took so many photos and I posted sooo many of them on my blog coz I love most of the pics. When we got back earlier, we played the slide show on the full hd and the macro shots are just sooooooo awesome!!!

Came across a bunch of SONY ALPHA enthusiasts.. then realised I kinda miss my alpha a bit but this camera is too awesome! hahaha

God I'm so awestruck...
*
Me too. I'm just too happy with E-P1 that no word can described... as I've said before, I enjoy back my photography hobby after I bought E-P1. With Canon 40D, I
just find it too cumbersome...
