You dont.

That is the case of you screw the camera to the lens - not screw the lens to the camera hahaha laugh.gif laugh.gif rclxm9.gif rclxms.gif
BTW, Panasonic is releasing its 100-300mm lens next year, along with the fisheye and 14mm pancake.

SO i can bet the 100-300 lens is at LEAST 40% smaller than the equivalent 4/3 lens. And we have yet to see what olympus has store for the system.

Hi, I bought my white e-p1 (kit lense) over 2 weeks ago. can barely afford it.. so I sold my sony alpha and all the accessories. One of the best decisions I've ever made. dslr is just too bulky and heavy for me plus I have a 2 yr old to chase around when traveling... but I can't live without the beautiful pictures so PEN is a great solution.

Anyways was wondering, if I can get the pancake lense separately? Where can I get the filter? How bout the accessory.. like the jacket.. is it available in Malaysia? Sorry, I'm based in Ipoh so a bit clueless with camera shops in KL.

Is the firmware upgrade available? How to upgrade? I've never upgraded a camera's firmware before.. is it like upgrading a mobile phone?

thanks in advance

I don't think that the Pancake is sold separately unless you buy it from another PEN user. At least not for the time being in Malaysia... hmm.gif
UV filter sized 37mm and 40.5mm should be very easy to find anywhere as it's quite a standard size for video camera. Got my silver 40.5mm JVC Japan UV filter in KK, Sabah with ease. Other brands would be Marumi, Hakuba, Keep and Hoya... biggrin.gif
The jacket can be a problem as it's quite hard to get except Japan, even Mat Salleh from the States and Europe ordered it through Japan online store. You can try calling and ordering through Olympus Malaysia though... smile.gif
As for the camera firmware upgrade, do read you included manual. It's stated there and very easy to DIY too... thumbup.gif

Wow. A 2 year old. Have you managed to capture your kid with the 'slow' AF on the E-P1?

I think you can order from Olympus directly. Your friendly camera shop maybe can help you?
Of course i think the pancake only is only coming end of this month or so.
Even the half-jacket.

The upgrade is due (rumours) to come on the 15th.
You need to use the Olympus Master program to upgrade it.

ok thank you all! Haven't read through the manual cover to cover yet. I've glanced through it and must have missed it.

i know what u mean. I've tried very lowlight indoors.. it is very slow and almost impossible to get good shots.. 2 yr old sitting still is never really still LOL but it's not as bad as my previous dslr with kit lense. Although I do wish it'll be improved with the new firmware. Haven't tried outdoors.. dang.. I need to get out more.

sorry for the very noob q. I'm not a very technical person. for taking photos indoors, is the external flash good enough or should I get a flashgun instead? hmm maybe I should google for pictures taken with the external flash.

Everytime I shoot indoor, I'll pair the PEN with my FL-36R connected with the DEMB Flip-It card. smile.gif
Works really well for me and I can also comfortably use ISO 400 with 1/25 shutter speed at f/4... biggrin.gif
