Noise seems extremely acceptable. I'm not surprised by the LPF, BUT i do wish it were removable as i prefer sharpness over Moire protection. Long bulb mode is pretty awesome. 3 FPS is also quite good if you ask me, but the 10 shot RAW buffer is small by my count.
Shall buy one tomorrow from Brissy |

this camera handling is slow, not responsive, and not intuitive. hence, not suitable for street photography.

But from other forum, the handling is better than expected dueto earlier preview that AF is slow. Due to low expectation, people are actually feel happy with the E-P1 performance. It's definitely faster than P&S. Street photography is ok. But not sport photography. Anyway, E-P1 has now achieve 19.3% market share in Japan and is growing: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...%3DSF2%26sa%3DG Added on July 10, 2009, 2:51 pmanyway, are you dgrebel? long time no see man. My colleague bought one just now and i manage to test it for a while.
The silver body is looks nicer than expected or in brochure. The 14-42 kitlens very small, smaller than G1's due to built in IS in G1's kitlens. AF is up to my expectation, it is a bit slower than G1 but as fast as DSLR with those 3rd party lens like Tamron if not faster. AF hunting abit weird though when close to locking the focus of the subject. Overall, the AF is fast. I'm sold One more thing, the EVF is rubbish like a toy This post has been edited by harrychoo: Jul 10 2009, 03:54 PM |

It's cheap, compact, has low noise and above all it doesn't look like i spent a gizillion bucks on it and thus people assume i'm a dumb tourist.Everything has it's flaws i guess, but this seems like the best compromise for digital street for now. |

I am going to watch Tour De France in a week time, do you recommend this camera when I take pics of the cyclists zooming past me? I dont want to bring a big SLR camera as I will cycling for two days to follow the Tour. Dont want to carry heavy items, sakit belakang nanti...
For video wise, I will be using my iphone 3gs and tweetreel application to post my video. I just need a camera to capture the cyclists face when the climb tough Mt Ventoux aka Mt Baldy.. |

QUOTE(harrychoo @ Jul 10 2009, 05:28 PM) The pancake is good, it AF faster than the 14-42. thanks for the feedback..is ok i think i will stick to pana leica 25mm f1.4 if i get this EP1Sharpness wise i'm not sure as i play a while only, lol. Now i'm wonder how it fair against the 25mm f2.8 fourthird pancake. G1 kitlens will focus faster than E-P1 kitlens on E-P1 body. |

If the cyclist zooming towards you and you want to have focus tracking with high speed shots, then it might not do the trick. For video wise, I will be using my iphone 3gs and tweetreel application to post my video. I just need a camera to capture the cyclists face when the climb tough Mt Ventoux aka Mt Baldy.. But if you manual focus and high speed shutter, yes, I think you'll be able to take those photos.
