Nice, at last Oly got 3:2 ratio on it.
And HD video too which much cheaper than the G1H. But no articulated LCD and built-in EVF for PEN Dunno how much the 4/3rd adapter too |

Aiyah, olympus price drop quite fast 1. Retail 2999 means street will be around 2700.
Wait few more months sure drop till G1 price. Even G1 at RM2400 i think still worth than getting those D40 la, A200 la, etc. But 1 thing doubtful in the preview (sample unit) is the AF speed, it said similar to E620 and slower than G1. Hopefully the final product will be faster than it was in the preview else it would be disappointing (even though much better than nikon and canon liveview) |

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Jun 18 2009, 12:08 AM) wah, don't make me happy man. I dun wan to get K-7 coz its still big. AF speed is important la, else it make it like a normal compact camera.I don't care AF speed. I'm slow shooter. G1 AF is dam fast, i rate it faster than Nikon AF-S, i have an E520 now, so i know the Olympus E-series liveview is definitely slower than the G1. I sold all my D90 + lenses and get ready for this thing, at last Superb combo with my LX3 |

I wan to join also! it's not the matter being poisoned or not.got it... knows who harry is now... but seriously... selling off his D90 for this? damn... now that's someone who's been poisoned KAWKAW it just a photographer finally knows what he want and what type of camera suit him best. having said that, frankly i still prefer G1 over E-P1 in term of usability but E-P1 have video over G1 (and G1H too expensive). |

QUOTE(yehlai @ Jun 19 2009, 01:13 PM) you really sold the DSLR after saw this P1? Really enthusiast. Not really, I sold few months ago already as I already decided to go for mFT.Shere some shoots here and poison more people Tried G1, impressed and feel want to buy it. Pros : EVF, fast focusing, good grip, nice articulating LCD, built in flash. Cons : No video. Decided to wait for Olympus and see what they offer on their lineup. Price around RM2700 for E-P1 is still quite steep to be honest, so I'll wait a while for the price to drop before getting it. Hopefully can get it before Oct for my Bali trip, else I'll settle it wth my LX3 and wait for more mFT camera from Panasonic and Olympus. |

QUOTE(shootkk @ Jun 19 2009, 02:28 PM) That's what I say ler... pro with DSLR will only get the E-P1 with a pancake lens for portability and convenience. To stand in for their compacts. Other lenses and accessories are non-priority items. It not like they are gonna get another system or replace their existing DSLR. It's like "I'm going to a party/clubbing and I don't wanna lug my DSLR around so the E-P1 (with pancake lens) will do as I can carry it in my pocket." kinda thing. Not like - "I am into landscape/sports/wedding photography and I don't like big DSLR... so I am gonna get the E-P1 instead!" maybe i can be the sample If the market is that large, the G1 and the GH1 would have exploded ler before the E-P1. The G1 is the first micro-four thirds system camera in the market and it has an electronic viewfinder too, which the E-P1 lacks. Not to mention a fully articulating LCD! i'm the one who "like to travel but dun want to carry a big ass camera, like to yumcha without a attention seeker big ass camera but still want better quality than compact" and "occasionally like the flexibility of changing to longer lens for event purpose like concert and candid shots" and i think this camera is the perfect partner for ppl that like to blog |

QUOTE(AlphaBeta @ Jun 20 2009, 12:39 AM) i agree with shootkk.... If one is really into photography, he/she will not complain about the size of DSLR or wht ever. However, i will still get this PEN for events where i can't bring along my bulky DSLR and still get a good quality photos. I see no reason why getting a d90 then selling it off to get this PEN. My guess would be he/she attracted to the style of this PEN and sold his dslr to fund for this, a typical gearhead. 1st bold : So DSLR is the only way if someone really into photography? 2nd bold : Sorry to prove u wrong |

QUOTE(seaotter @ Jul 5 2009, 08:30 PM) You mean their long tele? I know Pana coming soon on their 45-150 and ya the price is dam expensive.Next year they are going to intro their UW tele and long tele (olympus la) Panasonic already have two good tele for mFT - the 14-140 and 50-200. freaking expensive though. Not sure about what Olympus gonna offer though. A cheap tele is my main concern now, else i have to buy the adapter and use FT tele lens. |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jul 9 2009, 05:04 PM) Just got the White E-P1. Got both lenses and OVF. Currently charging it now, and taking it later to Paris for photoshoot in Disneyland Paris. Newbie here so my pics may be not good. This is my first "better than PnS" camera I have since my crappy Cybershot, so I cant wait to see the image quality jump. France got sell white body with 2 lenses? |

My colleague bought one just now and i manage to test it for a while.
The silver body is looks nicer than expected or in brochure. The 14-42 kitlens very small, smaller than G1's due to built in IS in G1's kitlens. AF is up to my expectation, it is a bit slower than G1 but as fast as DSLR with those 3rd party lens like Tamron if not faster. AF hunting abit weird though when close to locking the focus of the subject. Overall, the AF is fast. I'm sold One more thing, the EVF is rubbish like a toy This post has been edited by harrychoo: Jul 10 2009, 03:54 PM |
