Just a curious question to ease my own self-poisoning.. what made you guys go with a micro four third vs dslr vs even a premium compact?

Great picture quality with a compact camera, and the pics in high ISO rock! I've owned a dslr before, and the size does matter BTW, I've just paid the leather cover from aki-asahi..will wait for the item to arrive This post has been edited by walikard: Apr 20 2010, 03:29 PM |

Totally agree with walikard and hellfire.
My main concern is the size and ease of use. Other than that I want to get out of the DSLR bandwagon haha. Anyways, not to mention that MFT cameras are better looking that other types of camera. A person asked me on the first day I held my E-PL1. "Sir, are you a photographer?" I've never been asked the question before when I was using DSLR for 2 years. And not to mention that my E-PL1's output looks much better than D5000. My sister used it and it totally pwned the D5000(which was equipped with flash and everything we can attach to it) haha. The thing's like this.. I'm not really into photography but have been taking quite a bit of photos since I got my S90... I love the portability but there's some stuff that I'm gatal'ing for more.....
Like a narrower DoF.. faster performance... Then it became gatal micro four thirds .... more specifically the GF1+20mm f1.7. I'm concerned about the practicality of only using 20mm pancake... have to get reaaaaaaal close to get bokeh right? Any bigger lense means it loses the size advantage. Using any bigger lense pulak... u43 loses |

Ahaha...most people would recommend the asahi leathrette. But it's not suitable with our white body. Anyways I just keep it inside my bag when not in use.
I'd recommend the Panasonic 20mm f1.7 pancake lens. It's like the default lens on my E-PL1 right now. As for accessories, I think I'll get these: http://www.ecam.com.my/shop/product_info.php?products_id=818 and http://shashinki.com/shop/domke-gripper-ca...ase-p-5556.html or http://www.ecam.com.my/shop/product_info.php?products_id=605 I'm greedy enough to get both but I'm not sure if they can be used together.
