QUOTE(maxxspeed @ Nov 9 2009, 11:52 PM) to those who own the GF1, mind let me know how's the Image stabilizer works ? Hi, the GF1 doesn't have an in-body image stabilizer compared to EP-1, it uses those MEGA O.I.S. lenses. I'm interested getting this camera but my hand kinda bad all the time How MEGA O.I.S. works, read here. BTW, the Lumix G 14-45mm F3.5-5.6 kit lens comes with MEGA O.I.S. QUOTE(Hico @ Nov 15 2009, 12:50 AM) nice photo!..i tested GF1 yesterday at panasonic lumix station..the boss is kind enough to let me and my friends tested both type of lens when the stock just reach his shop.. GF1 is fantastic! the only thing i dun like is the place where holding the camera is not wide enough.. always worry and feel like it will easily drop off if not careful and a bit thick and heavy.. if can lighter even better Well true, if holding one-handed is bit hard, coz it's not as small as a point-and-shoot, so need to hold it like a standard DSLR cam anyway, GF1 is a nice camera .. |

QUOTE(A4pApEr @ Nov 17 2009, 10:19 AM) Hico, I'm using 20mm F1.7 pancake lens. Yeah .. I'm still pretty new to this camera and still a lot basics to learn ... thanks for the advice bro. Thanks Wuahaha! Added on November 17, 2009, 10:21 am Yeah. Sometimes the photo looks good in your LCD, but not in your PC after you transfer it. Sometimes you might need to check on the histogram to see whether the photos is under or over. Added on November 17, 2009, 10:23 am Thanks. Yup. Got level and add a little bit of contrast to my photos. This post has been edited by Wuahaha: Nov 17 2009, 10:43 AM |

QUOTE(davidmak @ Nov 17 2009, 07:57 PM) Best is to use the histogram to gauge general exposure. Then apply exposure compensation. Then it'll get more consistent exposure. Sometimes the LCD display fools your eyes because it is set too bright. Do this a few rounds and you'll know what are the typical settings and you'll learn to compensate. Thanks bro ... another useful info I learn today The truth is there's a reason why most Panasonics are 'underexposed'. They are done deliberately to preserve detail and prevent highlights from being blown out. With this, you get more headroom for photo editing (with Photoshop for example). You can then adjust the brightness, curve, tone, etc. For most people, this is considered a chore and they want usable JPEGs straight out of the camera. For this, the Olympus EP-1 seems to do a great job. JPEGs are great out of the camera with the 'right exposure'. However some people says that it is dangerously close to overblown highlights. |

QUOTE(Hico @ Nov 17 2009, 11:59 PM) the price quite attractive..i get quote rm3000 for GF1+ zoom kit +8gb memory card, panasonic bag and 1 puma jacket.. din ask abt pan cake lens package.. Good price for Rm3k .. but then the pancake lens is Rm2~300 more expensive than the 14-45mm kit lens, I think. This post has been edited by Wuahaha: Nov 18 2009, 12:22 AM |
