a very noob question here...i'm interested on buying gf-1 but in doubtful whether to buy the package with kit lens (14-45mm) or pancake lens....(surely not both...not enough money yet..) AFAIK the pancake didn't come with IS rite??so what's the advantage of this single focus lense??

Bro, this is my assumption only tongue.gif I believe, most of us here will recommend the 20mm biggrin.gif But for learning purposes, the standard kitlens will do it's job very well.

Nope, it won't be the same. Click THIS LINK for the review. As for our member's pics, I guess 20mm owner don't mind to share theirs? smile.gif

Went to PC fair today.
Olympus having a bargain there! With lots of freebies.
The displayed price is the SRP, not sure after negotiation, but there are really many freebies which I think is really worth it.
Go PC fair and have a look if you intend to get a PEN.
There are few booth selling Olympus cameras, go to the biggest booth, somewhere in the middle of the exhibition hall.

For panasonic, I'm sorry, coz I didn't bother to check out Panasonic counter.

Btw, finally got my Lowepro Passport Sling
MYR220 at Pertama Complex smile.gif
Not a grey import, but from local distributor.

Both can create bokeh, but 20mm is creamier than the kitlens. I mean by quite a lot biggrin.gif BTW, the biggest advantage 20mm over kitlens lies in it apperture, i.e. F1.7. It is such a fast lens. In lowlight, you'll definitely need this than the other.

Would like to ask the others especially E-PL1 users.

Which quality settings are you guys using? I tried LF, LN and MF. Currently I'm using MF since I don't need big images. Can save up on space and get finer quality pictures.

I just got my self a present. Four third 50mm f2.

Love this lens very much, it is very sharp wide open. Feels solid with the four third adapter. But the AF is very slow however, result is breathtaking even before PP. So sharp wide open. It give you the 'Wow' factor. nod.gif . Recommended...if anyone don't mind the af speed. Four third lens rule..

Some pic with the lens
