8mbps package here. international speed crawling! speedtest to us gets around 2mbps, to sydney gets ONLY 0.5mbps. local speed still 8mbps. what happened? undersea cable got hit by shark again?

Anyone in Miri experience extremely slow Internet connection?

went to speedtest.net and speedtest.streamyx.com.my
both fail at the upload test part
call tm and they say there is no problem at their end and
it is ok as long as i have download speed.

No idea whats going on, no announcements or anything

1 MB streamyx. Slow download speed but normal upload speed (test with tm speedometer). Midnight and morning is fine. Started since Friday night. Sibu here. Already created 2 reports.

You should be consider lucky cos mine, same 1MB streamy,,,,,for the past 4 months, most of the time, the TM speedmeter doesn't even move. 10 times complaints and 3 times came to check and recommend new modem. Bought new modem,still the same and only occassionally, can go in like now. TM oversold their lines and so if you want faster download, you need to upgrade to their 4MB, then Tm may connect you to a better line, I think.

Every month wasting over Rm100 and now must go to small claim court to demand back all money paid...

for streamyx, i think it really depends on the location.

while im suffering from abnormal ping disease on my streamyx and slow torrent speed, my cousin (which is about 20 km away) is having torrenting spree at full speed & low ping.

when youre in that affected area, it is really unfortunate. even if you lodge a complain, youre lucky if they responded. sometime they only try to use temporary fix so that your connection is temporarily fast until you stop complaining, few weeks after, slowdown again.

i dont really know what is their exact problem, probably due to bad network infrastructure, bad cables, congestions, or bad DSLAM equipment.

plus, its not like we can force them to upgrade the local cabling/equipment etc.

My speed resumes back to normal 4 days ago. I am told that they changed the spider cables (underground cables) at the "hub station (dunno the term)"
