QUOTE(albnok @ Jun 12 2009, 03:31 AM) millenia3000: The Sony Service Center at Northpoint, Midvalley is open from 8:30am to 7:30pm on weekdays, and of course you can send it to any Sony Style. I sent my A700 to Berjaya Times Square because I had a few requests that were too technical for the front desk of Northpoint, and they tended to screw up or reinterpret what I requested. So I got Malek at BTS to type out the requests since he has an A100 and is far more familiar with what I was talking about. It might be minimal... but the constant aperture is what I'm after... seriously can't afford another White one... maybe in the future... but now, not yet la... might get the Tamron SP AF70-200mm F/2.8 Di LD (IF) Macro instead... a ceaper alternative to the SONY SAL-70200G - 70-200mm f/2.8 G... rite??Braynumb: I would prefer to have 2 photographers. One is wide-priority, the other is candid-priority. That way, each one can be in a different place at a different time, and if one fella's flash overheats the other fella should still be okay. Costs less also and you get a good backup. For the important scenes you get both photographers on the same subject. The 75-300mm is slow also. The beercan would be a minimal upgrade. achew: Cool, a floating screen? hokc77: Whoa, I love the first picture! SAL70300G for the win! QUOTE(patdidi @ Jun 12 2009, 09:34 AM) Its a fixed focal length lens... and it's already available in malaysia... RM599... quite cheap I guess... |

Bro, the 70-200 Tammy wouldn't be a good idea. I tried it out, the AF mechanism hunted so badly it was practically useless. Ended up settling with a Sigma 50-150 f2.8 HSM instead, a much better piece glass IMHO. And lighter weight too. This post has been edited by pleasuresaurus: Jun 12 2009, 09:59 AM |

Braynumb, the Sigma 50-150mm F2.8 EX DG II HSM does exist for Sony, just probably not through Yamiya.
pleasuresaurus: The Tamron 70-200mm F2.8 uses the Tamron in-lens micromotor for Canon and Nikon mounts; on the Sony and Pentax mounts it uses the on-body screw drive which is pretty fast (I've tried the Tamron on an A900.) Though, I do love the focal length, weight and size of the Sigma 50-150mm F2.8! |
