Bring back my car to tire shop again today,
end up they installed center cone for me,
(In fact, i insist want it)
steering vibration problem all sloved.  thumbup.gif
after that they use this machine to do on-wheel balancing :
[attachmentid=1205416]

that fellow told me this machine is more expensive than a kancil  sweat.gif
and said is best for those BMW & Benz cars that easily running 2xx km/h...  whistling.gif
*
for new wheels and new tyres, center cone is a must have. coz most rims are not made to 100% fit into our wheel hubs. most vibrations will be solved then. the on-wheel balancing is mainly to correct the minor points that are still imbalanced.

My car is less than 1 week old and already got 3 scratches. Aihhh.  cry.gif
The first one is caused by a taxi. He suddenly come into my lane without any signal, even when it's obvious there's not enough space for him and he bumped my car. Scratched my car, around 4 inch long, can see the base coat. Lucky there's no dent.

The second one is caused by a car parking very close to my car. I guess she hit my car when she opened her door. Minor scratch.

The third one is caused by a motorcycle. You know how these guy rides, blazing between lanes like nobody business. One of them bumped into my car. Minor scratch.
I'm going for my 1k service soon. Any idea how much they will charge for Gen 2 CPS AT? Thinking of getting them to touch up the scratches when I go for service. Any estimate on how much they will charge to touch up the scratches?
*
sorry to hear tat bro. anyway, the first service can refer to first post. +/- the same. touch up depends on ur relationship with the painter.. some don't charge, others charge a bit while some require u spray the whole door / area... u can also buy from outside using the colour code from autopaint shop. there is another brand which comes in small bottles of pre-mixed paint.. i forgot wat brand liao...

how to detect abs kong???

for gas abs...dun really have sign really..but can notice recoil of bump is much more compare to new abs..new abs more stiff over bumps..

for oil abs...leaking oil lo...

Added on September 21, 2009, 11:13 pm
oh no...sad to see that on a new car..ouch

touch up scaratches ar...usually they paint the whole panel geh....i recomend u wait till more and more scratches and do it one shot.....like my car plenty of dent and scratches... for a year old car..kiss ppl ass..bus kiss my ass....open door dents...duno la..too much to count..
*
other than the abs kong signs u mentioned, the last or late-stage sign is when u see ur tyres have waves on the tyre shoulders. this indicated the absorbers are too soft to rebound quickly.... the problem is, we won't notice it until its too late unless you go for 5k tyre rotation service and have very very curious eyes. i'm not sure how the shops really tests the abs for its efficiency though... haven seen the machine before..

I notice that my FC now almost same as yours ...  sweat.gif
Both of us on MT...  sad.gif
your last few tanks fuel is on Ron95, while i still using Ron97...  sweat.gif

I guess the 20K service interval i would try xW-30 engine + K&N Air Filter + Denso/VOLKER spark plug already...  blush.gif
*
guess i'm not alone then.. haha.. i do mostly town driving and start stop traffic. wat to do... i'm trying the caltex ron95 for a few tanks and see if there are any differences. so far have got some positive review.

the subjective part is the 'feeling' of the engine during CPS engagement. i do notice after using caltex ron95 the engine is more livelier after entered CPS zone. this is compared to using shell's ron95. shell wan tends to puff puff a bit after the CPS engaged... i will keep trying a few more times. waiting to try mobil and bhp and petronas after this. i have a tendency to try bhp and petronas last is because the outlets near my house are pretty old and not so nice environment. i prefer shell which is bigger and more spacious and clean as well. its well taken care place.

anyhow, using lower weight oils are definitely better for your FC and it still provides adequate protection if you do your service intervals well and on time. cheers and happy driving.

that center cone RM60/pcs or 4 pcs... mine RM120 for 4 pcs.. not sure expensive or not... but suppose rawang sell it lower... they got a lot of nice rims here.. too nice even i hardly to choose one and their shop so near which each other...  tongue.gif
*
that's the one. autopaint i think its the brand.. haha.. twilight blue also got that colour.. rm23.90 i bought from pacific mall in BP. expensive for a small little fella... but it does it job of covering small minor scratches.

hard to compare prices la.. centrecone used to come in rubber a few donkey years. nowadays i think its all metal type. i only scared it will rust and get stuck to the hub only... well, just think yours is gold plated if u paid more for it compared to others..... no hard feeelings!! laugh.gif

i also never realize got filter in aircon too.. maybe can ask SC when doing next service. my air con noisy when the speed above level 3 speed.

iridium i intend to change somewhere around wat Zen taiko said : at 70k or earlier if the plugs decided to foul. if its above 70k, i might buy back the iridium 2nd time; else i will keep to stock copper plugs. coz it doesn't bring any added advantage (other than lighter wallet when you high rev it kao kao).

erhm... how do u "BERSIHKAN" the coolant? tongue.gif

i'm thinking anything above RM150 for engine oil is quite pricey.. tats why i went to use a lower grade oil.. hehehe...

nick - (name) - colour - car no. - AT/MT

fazron80-iridiscent white-ccg3824-MT  cool2.gif

My gen2 cps is already over 1 year old. Got it on August 2008.

Have just done 35K service. Opt for Petronas mineral to save money for raya. Total cost for my 35K service was RM120.xx. Service was done at Eon service Teluk Intan. Their service so far is quite good really. Although it;s a small service center I gave 2 thumbs up for them. My only other service center experience was with Eon Service in Semambu Kuantan. Bad service there. Although it's the main service center for EON Pahang I gave both thumbs down to Semambu service center.

I need some feedback from other cps owners here. I'm currently servicing my car on 5K interval. But after a year of sticking to 5K service interval I;m thinking of doing service at every 10K. I ask the service center about this. Their reply was that the problem is Proton's oil filter is design for 5K only. I want to service at 10K because my last 2 service was just within a month only. It doesn't make sense to do service every month! I don't print money  cry.gif
*
longer service is subjective because it wholly depends on your quality of engine oil. your SC is right that the oil filters are designed for 5k interval only. so its better to stick to the 5K schedule or stretch it a bit to 6k or 7k.

However, i'm dead against it (going longer interval) simply because the danger of the engine being clogged up with oil deposits compared to the $$ that you will be saving. oil deposits or oil gunks can only be removed by taking the engine apart or major overhaul. so i still feel the service must be done to keep the engine in top form keeping to the manufacturer's recommended interval. you might consider outside services when your warranty expires...

rydeck, wat u do to get tat much discount on labour? can reveal? brows.gif

fazron80, i don't think you have much choice other than following the service intervals unless you wanna give them reasons to void ur car warranty... sorry mate, its tough life but its what your car that can do for you. i've tried calculating ur daily mileage and it works out around 270kms per day... erhm...u said 15k kms in 2 months right? it does sound about right for big city drivers if you drive long distances to work... i have met a taxi driver doing oil changes each week but they do it outside workshop la... hehe..
