Not bad..I kinda like it. Crunch time is around the Jan-Feb phase, and our last H/A game with another big four team finishes by second week of feb! Hopefully that'll lessen the pressure for the team and the business end of the season and help them concentrate on the other tourneys biggrin.gif

Why y y evryone keep telling we beeter off without eboue?

Eboue was never good on the RW, he was only good at RB and making surging runs like a right-sided Ashley Cole. He's a valuable asset to the team but first teamer? Nah, only if Bak is unfit for the RB, otherwise we've got much better options for the RW, eg Nasri. He's probably not going to leave unless Arsene decides to cash in, and if he really does push for his departure then one nobody will shed a tear for him.

Theo is a better option on the right wing although it's apparent that his long term future isn't there, and go easy on him. Being English means he may be hyped more by the English media, but the general consensus here is that he's nowhere near Henry's level. Note that Henry at the age of 20 was still a winger and at 21 he was disillusioned at Juve. Not forgetting how he lost his confidence when he failed to score in his early Arsenal days, but once the floodgates opened, it never stopped coming.

As for your assessment of the other players, seriously are we watching the same football?
Yaya doesn't have to be Thierryesque-quick in his role, and he has done his job well for Barca. Song or Denilson isn't any faster than Yaya either.
Huntelaar I agree, not because he's an inferior player but because we have Dudu returning soon.
Benzema, Aguero, Eto'o, Ribery crap? It's like saying Henry and RVN are crap strikers, Zidane and Figo crap midfielders... you get my point.
Benzema rules Ligue 1's striking charts, Ageuro's stats are even better than Torres's at Alt Madrid, Eto'o scored 30 in la Liga, Ribery is the heartbeat of Bayern Munich.

We're unlikely to get any of those huge profile signings, but that doesn't mean that you could make incorrect assessments of their achievements and abilities.

roy, i believe it'll be better if you open a new thread on the matter you want to discuss as it seems to me to be a perfectly valid and interesting topic to discussed about. and the topic also applied to football world as a whole, so chances are you will get better and broader view of the issue if a specific to be opened in Football Lounge instead of discussing it in here

back to our club. does anybody realize that 2 of the major transfer rumors for us is regarding 2 of the captains of other clubs? IINM the 2 Thomas that we are rumored to be interested in are both captain of Ajax and Stuttgart. i do believe that we are genuinely interested in the 2 Thomas, and for me this shows how much le Boss believes in the talent of this team but feels that there're not enough leader in the team

if that is indeed the case, i am fully agree with le Boss

Cesc Fabregas, as we know, is away with Spain for the Pointless Cup, and he's apparently not best pleased with Xabi Alonso. Alonso, having put him out for four months last season, clobbered him again during training and Cesc is due to miss Spain's game with Iraq with a sore knee. Quite how sore it is we don't know. There's no suggestion it's anything serious at this stage but I'm expecting news by the end of the day that he'll have to have his torso amputated.

I agree that Eboue is not a good RW, but so is Walcott.

No doubt Walcott has the potential but his crossing and dribbling are not good enough to be a good RW - Eboue is better in these. Unless you put it in another way - say, Arsenal does not play conventional wide formation with crosses and headers = so crossing is not a priority. If not, Walcott has little to offer.

Yes, Walcott has his glimpses of success and glory in his goals but averagely and consistently, he is still behind Eboue.

On Nasri, I do not think he's here to play RW and it's not in AW's plan for him to do - at least, not in the initial plan.

Having say all the above, Eboue has the edge to be a good RW in the team - but there are a few issues:
1. He's better as RB
2. Walcott has the potential. When AW buys him, it is in the long term plan to nurture him.
3. (As mentioned before) Arsenal seldom/does not play with crosses and headers.

Conclusion: Eboue is to stay to be a backup to both RB and RW. If only he could succeed in DM position, it would be even better!

hi guys, i have an article to share (rather a comment really)

Is Felipe Melo a Smart Option for Arsene Wenger and Arsenal?

CODE
After Arsenal suffered their fourth consecutive season without receiving anything new to put in their dusty trophy cabinet, Arsene Wenger has assured fans he will spend this summer in order to seriously upgrade his midfield and defensive departments.

Wenger failed to attract the likes of Brede Hangeland, Xabi Alonso, Gareth Barry, and Yaya Toure to the Emirates, so now the Frenchman has turned his attention to Italy.

Rumour has it that Wenger is preparing a £15 million bid for Fiorentina's Felipe Melo. The Brazilian has been on Wenger's eye for a number of years now, and he finally looks set to sign the midfielder.

If signed, Melo will bring strength, size, experience, and creativity to the Arsenal midfielder. The 25-year-old is over six feet tall and very strong on and off the ball. However, his price range is uncertain; it is unclear whether Fiorentina will allow their midfield maestro to depart Italy for £15 million.

Wenger is also set to sign Ajax captain Thomas Vermaelen, who will cost around £10 million. If Wenger is serious about adding Melo to his side, then he will be forced to sell at least two players, most notably Philippe Senderos and Abou Diaby.

Wenger was eager to bring in quality players, and Melo is no doubt worthy of the quality tag, but is it a smart option with the cost being more than what the Gunners paid for Andrei Arshavin in January?

Is Felipe Melo a smart option for Arsene Wenger and Arsenal?

And below is one of the comments which made me really LOLOLOL.

News regarding Fabregas injury.

Crocked Cesc left angry by Alonso

Cesc Fabregas looks set to miss Spain’s Confederations Cup clash with Iraq after Xabi Alonso injured him for the second time this season.

Alonso was the man who sidelined Fabregas for four months after the two Spaniards entered into a 50-50 challenge during the 1-1 Emirates Stadium draw earlier this season.

Now it appears the Liverpool man has nobbled his compatriot again, although Fabregas is believed to be a little more angered by the latest incident.

Spanish daily AS reports that Alonso damaged the left knee of Fabregas with a hard tackle, leaving the Arsenal man to limp from the field shaking his head.

It is not expected that Fabregas has sustained anything too serious, but he is expected to miss Wednesday’s clash with Iraq.

Meanwhile, Albert Riera was involved in a similar incident that left Santi Cazorla also requiring treatment in the Spanish camp.
