QUOTE(tishaban @ Mar 8 2012, 05:17 PM) Very packed for 2 weeks, but it's doable although I wouldn't do it again. i think tat fox glacier ice is more blueish. fox is in "z" shape but fj is in 1 line. when u're in tekapo, just go out and look at the stars at night. make sure u're in complete darkness without any light. it's super awesome!I personally prefer Franz Josef rather than Fox glacier. Also the night sky in Hokitika was amazing, even more so than any other place I stopped at. Turn off the lights and just gaze up. Added on March 8, 2012, 11:21 pm QUOTE(@rissband @ Mar 8 2012, 01:51 PM) Thanks guys for the info(s). btw, is chocolate price in NZ is cheaper compared to Langkawi or any other places? Anything else than chocolate that NZ is cheaper compared to other places? u can get 500g of manuka honey with umf 5+ at less than $20 at pak n save. try to survey the price of honey here and compare it when u buy whittakers is sold at $3.50 a bar when there's sales. wine is pretty cheap $10 for 1 bottle when there's sales. best thing is sometimes countdown sells a bottle of beer at $1.50 for reduced price. try Speight's. Doritos is my favorite corn chips. try it out Added on March 8, 2012, 11:38 pm QUOTE(@rissband @ Mar 8 2012, 12:20 AM) Hopefully they will stop, or else I'll have to stay 1 night in one of those area. Any recommended place on where should I stay at least 1 night before continuing my journey to Queenstown? i think so. i dun know much abt stray coz the travel package is too expensive for me. i just take intercity and nakedbus. lol. from tekapo to mt cook, i took cook connection in the morning and the driver did make a few stops at lake pukaki for us to take picture and explained about mt cook, the lake and power generation. By 1 day, u mean that I stay 1 night at those places suggested by you is it? so from those places that you mention, is there's a stop for Stray Travel so that I can hop on and continue my journey down south.. in chch, u can stay in hostel at bealey avenue coz intercity and nakesbus stop are there if u're gonna travel by bus. i stayed in kiwibasecamp last time coz they provide free airport pick up/drop off. many ppl like to stay at jailhouse coz it's special. it was jail last time. lotsa of motel and hostel in chch. not sure wat's ur budget. for hostel, check bbh.co.nz This post has been edited by lpp: Mar 8 2012, 11:39 PM |

Any recommended place on where should I stay at least 1 night before continuing my journey to Queenstown? Twizel or Tekapo is good place to stop. Or divert off a bit to Mt Cook which even better.By 1 day, u mean that I stay 1 night at those places suggested by you is it? so from those places that you mention, is there's a stop for Stray Travel so that I can hop on and continue my journey down south.. Stray works like this. There's fixed nightly stops for Stray but you can just hop off at any location along the way. For example they depart from Rangitata and stops for overnight at Mt Cook. But you can hop down at Tekapo which is along the way. Then only hop on to the next arriving bus on another day.. something like that.. |

Sad to hear that.
You guys must be furious right now. Last time they cancelled my trip to Manado and the worst part is that they didn't even inform me. I had to call them up and fire them before they say they'll refund me the money paid. So if you guys book the hotels already, I don't think you can replace AAX ticket with another airline. You'll just have to buy another ticket first and wait for AAX to refund you, which will take months. |

I believe that they've or will be emailing you people.
QUOTE Dear Guest, Please be informed that effective from 1st June 2012, AirAsia X will be suspending our flights to/from Christchurch. We will be sending individual notifications to all guests affected by this suspension, in stages, based on your respective flight dates, via email and SMS. The email notices will also outline the various service recovery options offered which are: i. cancel your reservation and opt for Full Refund/Credit Shell; or ii. move to any of our other operating flights from/to Christchurch, before the 1st June 2012*; or iii. reroute your flights from/to Christchurch to/from an AirAsia X port in Australia (Sydney, Gold Coast or Melbourne) to Kuala Lumpur# or any other AirAsia X destinations. Please take note alternative arrangements has to be made on your own for the trans-Tasman travel. *at no cost, subject to availability # at no cost In order to avoid undue congestion and delays in replying to your queries, we request that you contact us in relation to any queries you may have, only after you have received your individual notice. For further explanation on the reasons for our flight suspensions, please refer to our Press Release on 12th March 2012. ***Important Notice:*** For Option iii) Guest who choose to transfer their Christchurch-Kuala Lumpur flights to an AirAsia X service Australia-Kuala Lumpur (Sydney, Melbourne or Gold Coast)or vice versa will need to make their own arrangements and payments for trans-Tasman travel. For guests who have purchased domestic flights within New Zealand to connect with AirAsia X’s suspended Christchurch services, Air New Zealand and Jetstar will allow AirAsia X guests to transfer the payment made for the domestic flight to a trans-Tasman fare. There will be a call centre fee per person per segment for this service and fare difference if applicable. (Example: A guest who paid for a return domestic flight from Auckland to Christchurch to fly with AirAsia X, who transfers their AirAsia X ticket to the Sydney-Kuala Lumpur service, can transfer the domestic payment towards a flight from Auckland to Sydney to connect to the AirAsia X service.) To arrange this transfer, guest will need to contact the Air New Zealand or Jetstar call centre, verify connecting travel on AirAsia X, and arrange for their domestic flight to be transferred to a trans-Tasman flight (and pay any fare difference and the contact service fee). Guests opting for Jetstar will need to contact Jetstar before 26 March, 2012 with the above details. Call centre details: - Air New Zealand: 0800 737 000 - Jetstar: 0800 800 995 Before booking trans-Tasman travel please consult airline timetables to ensure your flight to Australia provides time to complete customs and immigration, pick up any bags and check-in at AirAsia X for your flight to Kuala Lumpur (and vice-versa for the return flight from Kuala Lumpur to Australia and returning to New Zealand). A transfer time of at least 4 hours is recommended but please note that neither AirAsia X nor the trans-Tasman carrier can be held accountable for any missed connections. QUOTE(lencent @ Mar 13 2012, 08:11 PM) yea yea... going te anau just to go there not necessary from my experience driving in various countries (north america, europe, aust, nz). check the website of your car rental company -- there's normally info on this. in most countries, if you are a genuine tourist, you can use your Malaysian licence coupled with the passport to rent a car. if the car rental company accepts this, that means it's good for driving there. This post has been edited by mat sputnik: Mar 13 2012, 08:16 PM |
