You don't need IDP, NZ accept letter of translation from JPJ.

You don't need to apply for any international driving license to drive in NZ. Your Malaysia license is valid for few months there. Pretty sure this has been discussed before earlier on this thread. Please search for it.

Now still early to say. But here's an advice if you don't like transits, fly straight though it might be really costly. SIA = RM5k return based on experience.

If not, you can take AAX to Australia, Jetstar, Air NZ will provide some other cheaper rates for you to fly to NZ. smile.gif There are actually flights like Jetstar from KL but then, the transit time. Hohoho.

I've bought MAS for RM1.5k including tax before AAX starts flying to CHC.
Do keep lookout for cheaper promos, they pop out without notice at all!

Hoho. Regarding the Visa, I'm not too sure as well as I've never taken a transit from Aus. Few of my friends have but not me. I either drop straight to Auckland then change to Air NZ or Jetstar (mostly Air NZ) or fly SIA to CHC. smile.gif

Well, for my friends, they always stop by Melbs and once in awhile Sydney. Most of the time it's this 2 places. smile.gif

Direct flights are harder to find (unless there's a major promo). I received email from SIA stating that Auckland/Christchurch return trip promo is on now. RM3.4k +/-. Good news indeed. rclxms.gif

For low cost, best option now is Jetstar via Singapore. Or you can do KL-Coolangatta with D7, then look for sale from Jetstar/PacificBlue/AirNZ to cross Tasman Sea.

SIA and MAS if you want KL-Auckland direct. Yesterday saw Emirates at Matta fair got promotion KL-Auckland for RM3k like that, but I didn't enquire about the details.

Best budget option as mat sputnik has already mentioned is Jetstar.

Flight departs around 2pm from KLIA to Singapore, then transit few hours, leave for Auckland from Singapore around 7pm.
My dad just took Jetstar to Auckland from KL yesterday afternoon. He just called back this morning to tell us the flight was very good and everything went very well.
Oh and they don't charge for water unlike Airasia. laugh.gif

Jetstar is a good choice but I've yet to test it out for the long distance yet. All from AKL < - > CHC only. Should try it out sometime.

Sometimes, flying to SG straight and catch the connecting flight to AKL is better. Don't need to waste too much time in the airport as well. thumbup.gif

Thanks. One more thing, just to be sure. They don't require visa right? I mean, they give visa on arrival right? Like singapore

Yes, but if you are transiting in Australia, you need Aus visa.

You don't need a visa to transit in aus unless you plan to disembark from the airport
