What if, instead of save boboi as 0191234567, you save it as +60191234567 ? Press * twice to get + sign

Then repeat your several test above ?

Which firmware version are you using ? v31, v30, v20, v10 ?

I tried simulate using my N82 on latest v31.

I'm using maxis. I have a +60121234567 as ABC. 100% confirmed only one exists for 1234567 number.

I call 0191234567, no display.

I call 1234567, callling ABC. This is normal, as without the prefix, it dials own telco.

I call 0131234567, no display.

EDIT: Question for N82 gurus & veterans; Currently I'm using Best Torch v1.0, its nice but its not very bright at all. Any good "torchlight" apps to recommend?
*
Since N82 is xenon flash, you cannot use it as LED torchlight. The only one can use is LCD screen as torch light. I'm using Best Torch also.

N82 and latest Nokia phones all come with UDP (User Data Protection). Means all data are retained after firmware upgrade. Not factory flash.

However, it is still advisable to do a Phone Memory Backup before firmware upgrade. Tools -> Utilities -> memory -> options -> Backup phone memory

QUOTE(The Punisher @ Jul 31 2009, 07:58 PM)
Question for SUPER encoder sifus, normally what options do u select when encoding video (FLV to MPEG4 AVI) to view on N82. I chose 320x240, 30fps, 336 video bitrate, 44.1k samplng, 128 audio bitrate, stereo & the rest at default settings but after encoding I watch on PC ok but when xfer to phone the audio will lag 1sec. Any special settings needed for N82 so no audio lag?
*
Reduce the audio bit-rate/sampling. The higher the bit-rate, the more processing is required. PC has more than enough, but not N82.

So how is the battery u got from AceCombat going? Better than the ori? ETA to recharge?

*
Overall I would say 20-30% last longer. Standard charging time, about 1.5 hrs if totally empty.

I found out something,

under App. Manager, MMSSync and Nokia Internet Services Support Package 1 Certificate details,
both valid day is only until : 05-10-2011...  sad.gif

what should i do?
*
MMSSync as its name suggest is MMS Sync application in N82.

If you don't have it installed, means you don't use it now.

If you use PC Suite, without MMSSync, you will not be able to sync MMS. Only can sync SMS.

To install it, connect N82 to PC Suite -> Help -> Reinstall PC Suite support

Ok, to answer your question, it means the application is signed by Nokia till 05-10-2011. After that, not valid to use anymore. But by then (2 years), I'm sure Nokia will come up with latest PC Suite which will have more up to date certificate. Perhaps you already change the phone.

is there any software that could make the camera more better? it always had the random blur especially on the side of the pic (side blur, center was ok).
seeing the sharpness, my n78 still kicks n82. why is this?
*
1) Camera / lens dirty
2) Finger near the lens
3) User problem -> shaky hands
4) Flash or no flash ? Bright or dim areas ? Can provide some sample pictures ?

Thanks for your explaination,
PC Suite will update those date certificates directly?  hmm.gif

my previous phone Nokia 6670 has been used 4years 6months before switch to Nokia N82 ...  wink.gif
*
Yes, Nokia will obviously have their own developer cert to sign the apps.

Like Microsoft, they have unlimited license for their own office PCs.

Eh... Adoi. I think more important is if you backup the data inside into PC. Time to look for another phone. How long have you used N82 ?

hi guys,
just bought a used n82. However I can't seem to play any games(Ngage or the Snake game that came with the phone.)  I can access the N-gage menu, but when I click on the game icon (fifa 2007) nothing happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
*
Looks like the guy formatted the memory card or something. Your 2nd hand unit comes with the default Nokia 2GB micro-SDHC ?

Try play other games. Or download the full/demo again and re-install ?

nope, only 512mb  doh.gif . I will give it a try later. Just want to confirm, its not a hardware issue rite, only software??
*
Yes, 99% is due to software/application not installed properly or some files missing.

When you get a 2nd hand phone, normally it is better to restore the phone to factory default.

Then you start from scratch to install/download whatever apps/software you want and configure your own personalise settings.

Can buy. Whatever remaining stock that dealer has, that's all. Else 2nd hand units.
