Wish to share an experience with fellow N82 owners here smile.gif

Earlier today, I wanted to email some photos to my friend but was shocked to see my Gallery was empty! The only item left there was the demo video that was saved in Phone Memory. I thought my memory card was corrupted, but strangely I was able to access its data using File Manager. I tried a few methods; such as removing and reinserting the card, turn the phone on and off, but they didn't work. Therefore I did a quick search in the net and decided to go with the theory that the bug might be caused by a recent corrupted file.

I removed the card from the phone and moved the suspected files to my computer. Then I did an Error-Check and defragged the card before returning it to N82. Thankfully the Gallery works like normal again. Phew! I'm just glad I don't need to do any resets or reformatting biggrin.gif

I've owned this phone for nearly 3 years and this is the first time it caused any problems, for a smart phone that's a pretty good track record. Really love this phone! rclxm9.gif

Hey guys, I got a crisis here with my N82

My memory card couldn't mount to the phone all of a sudden O.O
It's basically cannot go through before I can make it to have the click sound in order to make it mount. The slot is still align with the mother board, but I think it is the problem with the spring inside.

Is there a way to repair it quickly. If not, I might resort to buy a 2nd hand temporary phone, like nokia n97 to save myself from this.

Recently discovered a free programme called Calibre that can convert e-book formats. I tested it by converting a PDF e-book into .txt and opened it using LightNotepad. Looks great! Love the Page Down and bookmark saving functions, perfect for reading e-books thumbup.gif Personally, I really hate the default PDF viewer in the phone.

I had planned on buying an e-book reader, now that I've discovered this Calibre + LightNotepad combo, I can put that on hold for now and save the cash rclxm9.gif

p.s. I originally installed LightNotepad as a middle ground between the default Notes and Quick Word. LightNotepad maximises screen real estate and enables editing, unlike the view only Quick Word. Two limitations: it doesn't support formatting and it becomes view-only for files over 200 KB in size (there's a warning before opening the large file that the programme might crash, though I never had LightNotepad crash on me before).

p.p.s. Quick Word couldn't even open the .txt e-book because it ran out of memory shakehead.gif

I just acquired a Nokia N82 from my dad, apparently the phone is in good working condition, just need to do some restoration to restore its glory.

1. Full housing need to be changed, including the rear camera part cover.

2. Top speaker no sound, bottom speaker burst, both busted I guess.

3. Need some cleaning on the inside due to where my father works has alot of small metal particles.

How much roughly its gonna cost ? Expensive ? N82 is a very good phone tho. Will it be worth to restore it ?

Thanks in advance.

1. Buy good-quality non-original from accessories shop. Cheaper. Ori will be expensive, I think not worth it.

2. Send in to accessories shop to replace both. Should not be expansive.

3. Buy those compressed-air canister (Pasar Road) and blow it.

I've sent my N82 for the housing and speakers replacement. But then I realized my screen as not bright and clear as before, and before this if the light is out I still could see what's running on the screen, but now when the light is out totally pitch black and unable to see anything. Does this mean the screen has been replaced ?

yes, they broke/stole your original screen and replaced it with a low quality one. Higher battery consumption, poor color reproduction and cannot see under sunlight. /gg
