Hie guys,
I have some issue here with GPRS/EDGE. I pass my old iPhone 2G to my bro that has been JB. What i have done: 1) downloaded SBSettings and disable "EDGE" and "Data" 2) downloaded SBSettings Add On --> Data toggle: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=7607 3) Enable "Cellular Data Network" with "iPhone_3.0_Maxis_my.ipcc.zip" ( Should i use iPhone_3.1_Maxis_my.ipcc.zip instead?) 4) Tried the link below to disable EDGE.."http://iphonenodata.com/" 5) Lastly, tired fake APN such as: APN: iPhone Username: iPhone Password: iPhone With No luck for all the steps above. Using postpaid with 2G iphone. Last time im able to disable to EDGE now i proceed with all the steps mentioned above with no luck at all..Im still able to see the Data IP under SBS Settings.. Or i should download iPhone 3.1.Maxis ipcc file instead? Thanks in advanced. |

I believe most telcos practice this 'pro-rated' methods. This post has been edited by Mackiddo: Feb 18 2010, 12:50 PM |

@terencetoo - I used "Dat Toggle" on my 3GS and it works fine. However, not sure about yours why it doesn;t work... Most probably "Data Toggle" works on EDGE/3G iPhones and not iPhone 2G.

I think my case here is something new. I called up hotlink service center 2 weeks ago to disable my 3G/GPRS/EDGE setting. After went through verification process, they process the request in 2 hours. I just need to disable 3G myself.
Everything goes well, my credit balance remain same, no data leak or whatever problem. So I'm a happy iPhone user for 2 weeks. Today, to my horror, my credit balance become 0, lost all my money. I shut down wifi and try to connect and found out the 3G/edge/gprs is working!! I called hotlink service center again, this guy said they never help customer to disable any gprs/edge services through telephone, we need to visit maxis service center for that request!! I asked him why they can process my request 2 weeks ago, now can't? He checked back and said, they don't have any record of my name/phone number calling their service center. @#$#@%! |

non jail break version. turn off 3G and data roaming is not enough. that's why i called maxis to disable my gprs and edge also. use for 2 weeks no problem. suddenly the gprs and edge activated back. I off wifi and 3G just now, launched facebook, still can get notification. check back balance, lost rm3.

*136*4# to disable
*136# to enable is this workable for turning off DATA service ?
