QUOTE(jchong @ Jul 22 2009, 11:01 PM) Preliminary look at the Rythmik F15Thanks to some test tones and a SPL meter borrowed from a forummer (you know who you are ) I managed to chart the in-room freq response of the F15 vs the CHT-12Q. As you can see the F15 digs down to 10Hz in-room!! And it's fairly flat from 10-32Hz. By comparison the 12Q falls off rapidly below 32Hz and is basically inaudible from 25Hz and below. So what does 10Hz sound like? Well I can't hear it. I can only start hearing some pulsations about 14Hz upwards (and this is probably due to the vibration of things in the room rather than the test signal itself). And at the test level of 80+ dB it's not powerful enough to really rattle the room. I've not tried pushing it higher yet. according to either craigsub( i think it was him), even seating beside the sub, 15hz was wasnt heard or felt until.. errr.. 4got how many db but i am quite sure atleast 100db.. just curious how far was the mic away from the sub.. QUOTE(ycs @ Jul 24 2009, 02:40 PM) good bits of knowledge by pierreye again. An interesting table in Home Theater Shack: LINK[attachmentid=1097440] Didn't know my PB12NSD ranked so high up at average 108dB. if u wife or gf scream at u then tell her 'dont make my subwoofer angry!'

One 13", another 16"! wonder if they will make a sealed cylinder in the future .... might look like a black 13 inch tire:) or a balck wedding cake This post has been edited by mys_terious: Jul 26 2009, 05:22 PM

QUOTE(ycs @ Aug 19 2009, 08:46 AM) if no use also it makes your room look mysterious and magical. anyway, tried already with and without wall panels for main speakers. lucky, got some differences/improvements. haha note: i'd suggest making your bass trap thicker, maybe 8". check this out: DIY trapsmain speakers got diff then bass region leh.. is it smoother compared to no bass trap.. just curious.. coz all the NRC published nvr show low frequencies.. not sure abt mysterious and magical but i am sure when my frens see it they will surely ask 'those hanging stuff are also speakers ah'?

QUOTE(ycs @ Aug 21 2009, 09:04 PM) i've done a simple test using REW to measure the effects on FR by removing just 1 front corner bass trap in my room. With front corner bass trap, 80 Hz crossover: [attachmentid=1151336] After removing the front bass trap; note the circled areas. [attachmentid=1151337] so, definitely worthwhile to install bass traps and also looks like the more the merrier. i'll have to install more as well. anyone know how to read these waterfall charts: with bass trap [attachmentid=1151419] overlay of the 2 charts [attachmentid=1151421] thank you so much boss!!!! i certainly cant read those waterfall charts This post has been edited by mys_terious: Aug 22 2009, 07:21 PM

QUOTE(jchong @ Aug 24 2009, 03:49 PM) I would pick the Submersive based on all the incredible reviews it has received. For sure it will be exclusive in Malaysia, you'll probably be the 1st to own one locally. Now, if only you can get Mark Seaton to service you since he's busy enough with US orders. Another strong contender is the Hsu ULS-15 DualDrive, i.e. 2 units of the ULS-15. This has also got very good reviews and with 2 subs you can position them to even out the bass in your large room. Also quite exclusive locally. this thread is really getting out of hand.. 6 months ago we barely see any other subs mentioned here except cht12 .. .. now submersive, ed, hsu ,axiom.. forgot we even have our friend with a rythmik sub .. at least the chances of us tasting other brands of subwoofer increases.. hopefully the trend of having GTG will follow then we can try diff subs This post has been edited by mys_terious: Aug 24 2009, 04:53 PM

QUOTE(jchong @ Aug 24 2009, 05:16 PM) Indeed, we seem to have progressed a lot in the last 6 months. Nowadays a lot of the non-mainstream brands get mentioned. I suppose I could also suggest that xrossf1re get 3x Rythmik F15, which would easily fit his budget. But I'm also happy that he try others then we get more diversity and chance to listen to other subs Just saw this pro review of the Rythmik F12SE: http://www.enjoythemusic.com/magazine/equi...thmik_f12se.htmthere are many brands but i dont dare to try coz i am not familiar with their warranty .. i bought svs coz always hear ppl talking abt their excellent warranties even for overseas buyers... the rest of the brands i am not sure and too lazy to find out haha.. 3x F15 would be nice!!!

QUOTE(mpyw @ Aug 25 2009, 04:36 PM) Well, in the forum...they said 2 Hsu VTF3 MK3 can match the performance of the Submersive (which have dual 15" woofer).... Hsu does ship to M'sia Added on August 25, 2009, 4:39 pmPicture of SubMersive:- thought it is more likely 2 sealed hsu might have similar performance with submersive instead of vtf3 mk3
