i am lost.. my gps status shows Assisted GPS.. but this is for my garmin..

Once it got the lock, it uses integrated GPS. What A-GPS does is just to determine where you are. Once it knows where you are, it uses the integrated GPS to follow you.

any other GPS program as good as garmin? my garmin everytime install, few hours later it will crash and cant open d

hye.. i just got my black tube yesterday.. and after reading this thread, i just notice that my tube had light leakage..

what should i do ? bring my tube back to the shop that i bought the phone and ask for change ?

My best recommendation so far is Sygic McGuider. Another good one is nDrive. But bear in mind the Malaysia maps available for these apps are based on Teleatlas which is not updated since mid of 2008. So yeah... its a give and take.

How bad is the light leakage?

I recommend u take garmin.

Do u know whats the priority of a GPS application? Its the map itself.

Example they did some construction work there and the road got block but the GPS shows u need go straight but its block?

What's da point of having a gps when it shows u the wrong path? So i recommend u use garmin because they have malaysian mappers keep updating their map every week (MFM maps) except if those application can use garmin map then there is something to compare

Correct me if Im wrong, if I enable both A-GPS and I-GPS, it will be faster than just I-GPS without scary charges like Network Based as it only charge 10cents per connection?

Yeap... you got it 100% right. A-GPS & I-GPS is the safe combo. Network based is a no no.

I've been using the tube for about 3 months now. The few cents from A-GPS charges maximum accumulates to only about RM2 or so. I have never had like crazy data charges in my bill. Anyway you know our tube can keep track of data charges right? Its in your log? And your log refreshes every 30 days so you basically know how much data you use.

And each A-GPS lock is good for 3 hours or so. After that if you have to lock on again. But then again, how many trips a day do you use Garmin? lol. In fact you can try, once you got a lock with A-GPS. Exit the software and turn off A-GPS and you will see you still can lock fast.

depends. Try do that then u enter a car with V-cool hahah u see all the signal disappear.

i remember last week when i need to wait almost 15 minutes in the car, waiting for the GPS to be locked.

its all about turning on the A-GPS, get the position locked, and turn the A-GPS back off

dude, if ur talking abt like in the pic below, its not so bad, its just that u know where to look and ur looking really hard... if its the side one then its really bad..
