just trust me and don't get involve in anything moddedi. if u buy a car, i am sure u want the engine that comes with the car, and not a modified engine. if u want a modified engine, the ur not the mainstream group, just the wierd one. so for mainstream buyers, just ignore this discussion about mod. its not a relevant topic.
jeez. if u want to really learn about modding, take a computer enginering course. enough already.

Then I must be the weird one. Cause I add on tuning management chip into my wife commonrail diesel engine to boost extra 25% torque and hp. Don't waste your time with non-turbo car as chip tuning for normal petrol car is less then 5%. All my pc is overclock and I only buy those chip with best overclocking potential. Modding doesn't mean piracy. It's to squeeze more performance/feature from your machine so you get better deal for your money.

One shouldn't make assumptions on and pre-suppose others who wish to make the most out of their purchase. Sweeping (and baseless) statements like, modding is piracy, have no place in general discussion forums like these. This post has been edited by jooku1: Jan 24 2010, 09:06 AM

simply put like this la, modders must have the technical know-how and the perseverance that comes with it. Just like if u mod ur pc, ur bike, ur car etc...if u don't have the pre-requisite, DON'T! Coz, u might end up with: why is my wii bricked? (the same as why is my car dead?) If u have the mechanics u can trust that can do it for u, then do it. If you don't, just settle with a normal car and drive safely

So for the newbies, either read up or just go plain vanilla.

modding is consider a hobby for me. You must invest time in researching how to squeeze the extra performance you want. If you just a newbie trying to mod to play pirate game, then watch out on bricking your wii. My only advice to newbie that want to mod, DON'T get Korean machine. Period.

modding is not piracy. but piracy (without exceptions at all) is modding.
there is a joke i mentioned before, but its worth mentioning again (i love laughing at my own jokes): how many modders does it take to change a light bulb? one. one who says light bulb should do more then just light up. and one who says light should be free. but it is still one.
before u flame me. it is a joke. i will say it again. pirating affects people like me. so if u say its none of my business, u are wrong. its my business to stop u from pirating. but if u want to mod, it none of my business.

Get Eneloop. It's only rm2 more than sanyo ni-mh. If don't play your wii everyday, you will appreciate Eneloop slower discharge. My Sanyo Ni-Mh after 2 years will discharge completely after 1 month.

Look...I'm all for anti-piracy. Just not the preachy tone that labels all modders as pirates or potential pirates. It's this same simple (but wrong) logic that the video industry used during the early days of VCRs by labelling all VCR owners as potential pirates. I'm sure we all owned one, but do we consider ourselves pirates? Similarly, not all who modify their cars are Fast and Furious wannabes, but just to extract the maximum mileage or efficiency from their vehicles.
Also the lightbulb premise (joke or no joke) is rather puerile. If man were to have just stopped at using fire just for heat, we wouldn't have moved out of caves tens of thousands of years ago. It is human nature to tinker and improve on the status quo which fuels the growth of technology, which all of us obviously love, being loyal Low Yat-ers.
And yes, apparently modding is taboo here. Stop discussing it and it will just go away and cease to exist.....
