Errr Fifa 09 yes u can play with Wiimotes but for my personal experienced , its tough to play with wiimote on fifa09 or any soccer games.

Im using Classic controller to play.

I kinda like swinging the wiimote everytime uwant to shoot though biggrin.gif
Also the advanced controls allow u to point to the player u want to pass to with the wiimote I think

i'll just cut the chase and answer how most like it to be answered. coz i know it will get to that point eventually.

modded to play pirate (although some do buy modded for valid reasons, but they are from mars). unmodded to play original. difference is you get to play pirates on modded wii,  but comes with hassles (please don't ask me to elaborate, just google it). If modded you only can play original, but its hassle free.

I beg to respectfully disagree.
People mod (I'm talking about soft-modding here) their Wii to extract the most of the potential of the Wii. For example by loading homebrew, it opens up a much wider array of applications and stuff u can do with the Wii. MY Wii is now my media streaming center using MPlayer CE. No need to buy a separate media player. Just plug in my external HDD into the USB slots and I'm good to go. Also it can be used to play DVDs for those who feel so inclined to (not me biggrin.gif ). Besides you can also stream online radio and video.
Also u can run lots of homebrew games that contributors develop for free...simple but fun.
One useful homebrew application (to me la) is the balance board tool. U can use your balance board as a weighing scale! Beats going into Wii Fit everytime I want to check my weight or weigh stuff rclxms.gif

Of course there is the element of piracy as well, but that's just like saying we shouldn't allow the VCR just because it can copy shows as well. Some ppl do use it to backup their original games (which cost a bomb btw) to avoid being damaged by their kids (or themselves).

HOwever I would agree that an unmodded Wii will be relatively hassle free, as u have to have a little knowledge of modding and read up a lot before doing the mod.

Good luck with whatever your choice is, coz either way the Wii is tops!

Juz got my Wii today...

but playing the games is tiring (play the Wii sport with my wife) ...

so guys wat games is a must ... really dunno wat game to get ...

and do i need to get SD card??? what it for??? i ask the guy at the shop he say no need...
*
As of the 4.0 System menu update, the SD card can be used to store Wiiware or Virtual Console games downloaded from Wii Shop Channel. Previously it had to be saved in the Wii system memory.
Also it can be used to load Homebrew Channel and applications, if your Wii is soft-modded.

i was going to answer in that manner (therefore i agree with u), but like i said, i decided to cut the chase. you see there are the 'purely geniune' group who mod their machines for the purely geniune legal reasons. and their objective of modding is as what u mentioned. but there aren't many of them! most of them are from the 'not purely geniune' group, i.e. they are the 'test first before i buy original' group. or the 'buy original if i love it, else just pirate it'  group. Modding give you the avenue to pirate. i am not an advocate of making the wii do more other then a game console, coz u can do all that on a pc
*
Still it isn't fair to just generalise and say all modders are piraters.
I use it to region free my Wii (I've got a PAL one btw) so I can play NTSC games as well. That doesn't really constitute as piracy does it?
Just feel it's unfair for Nintendo to lock their games to regions and assume ppl in the UK will not like to play Jap titles. For once Sony and Microsoft are doing the right thing with the PS3 & Xbox respectively.

I read somewhere in this thread that in order buy games from Wii Shop, we need to set the location to a specific location. How do we do that?
The location most malaysian use is Brazil. I use that too with no issues other then certain games introduce my Mii as a brazilian to the world. There is no 'Malaysia' in the wii setup. And using 'Singapore' won't do either.

Wii doesnt come with a wireless adapter, so can we use a USB2.0 wireless adapter instead of a ethernet adapter?
Doesn't wii have a built in wireless adapter (wi-fi built in)? u don't need a wireless adapter.
*
I'm not sure if I'm understanding you right, but the Wii does have wifi built-in. Nice to surf on the Internet Channel once in a while when I malas bukak my computer...but the browser blows la...almost non-existent flash support!!!

Well, you can still rotate the globe to Malaysia and you can get the current weather. Only can't get 5 day forecast la.

Then I must be the weird one. Cause I add on tuning management chip into my wife commonrail diesel engine to boost extra 25% torque and hp. Don't waste your time with non-turbo car as chip tuning for normal petrol car is less then 5%. All my pc is overclock and I only buy those chip with best overclocking potential. Modding doesn't mean piracy. It's to squeeze more performance/feature from your machine so you get better deal for your money.

agree totally...just because some users don't have the interest or know-how to mod, doesn't give them the right to tar all modders with the "piracy" brush. One shouldn't make assumptions on and pre-suppose others who wish to make the most out of their purchase. Sweeping (and baseless) statements like, modding is piracy, have no place in general discussion forums like these.

simply put like this la, modders must have the technical know-how and the perseverance that comes with it. Just like if u mod ur pc, ur bike, ur car etc...if u don't have the pre-requisite, DON'T!

Coz, u might end up with: why is my wii bricked? (the same as why is my car dead?)

If u have the mechanics u can trust that can do it for u, then do it. If you don't, just settle with a normal car and drive safely smile.gif

agree totally again....just get peeved by those that call ALL modders pirates. That's all.
So for the newbies, either read up or just go plain vanilla.

Look...I'm all for anti-piracy. Just not the preachy tone that labels all modders as pirates or potential pirates.
It's this same simple (but wrong) logic that the video industry used during the early days of VCRs by labelling all VCR owners as potential pirates. I'm sure we all owned one, but do we consider ourselves pirates? Similarly, not all who modify their cars are Fast and Furious wannabes, but just to extract the maximum mileage or efficiency from their vehicles.

Also the lightbulb premise (joke or no joke) is rather puerile. If man were to have just stopped at using fire just for heat, we wouldn't have moved out of caves tens of thousands of years ago. It is human nature to tinker and improve on the status quo which fuels the growth of technology, which all of us obviously love, being loyal Low Yat-ers.

And yes, apparently modding is taboo here. Stop discussing it and it will just go away and cease to exist.....

Definitely Grand Slam Tennis! Although the characters look cartoonish, it's the brilliant gameplay and translation of wiimote movements that's more important. PLus I don't need to keep pointing my wiimote at the screen after EVERY shot like in Virtua Tennis....gets annoying after a while.
Just my 2 cents
