think for rm830 it is modded. get unmodded if u don't want to be bothered by 'because u modded it' problems

motion control here i assume u don't meant the new motion plus add-on, just basic motion control. then the answer is not all, but most. Only if it make sense. for example if u playing a 2d fighthing game, speed is important, so having motion controls will not help. the keyword here is 'if it make sense, game will support motion control'

fps u just point to the tv, aim and shoot. to move around in the world u use the nunchuck analog stick. for 1st/3rd person fighting games is the same, but u use your remote and/or nunchuck to simulate fighting (implementation is different for different games)

y don't browse in youtube or such to see how various games r played. a video is worth a thousand words

i just downloaded a wiiware a few days ago. but it is not in my sd card. But i think with system update 4.0 you can easily transfer the game to your sd card. That was the main purpose of 4.0 i read.

modded consoles are not factory default machines. So, when u buy a modded console, it comes with lot of issues (you can google them). These issues can be overcome. and some people take them as challenges to overcome them, and the rewards are
1. region free gaming,
2. Making your console do more then just gaming (you can google that too)
3. provide an avenue to steal.

so, if u don't have any ambition to be a wii engineer and just to enjoy gaming, or you are not a thief, then go for unmodded console.

U will need a softmod to do that (u may not even need the wiikey chip). I don't want to dwell in the details, but in a nutshell, its through Homebrew softmod. This, is another wii software engineering subject. i don't recommend u take this path if u just want to play games. coz people who take this path seems to spending more time here then playing games. but my personal view - don't abuse your wii on dvds, just get a dvd player. my rm80 dvd player is already 3yrs old and still ok.

a sony wii? they are like water and oil. they don't mix. anyway to answer your question, probably not ( i am not sure), but if there are they are very rare in malaysia. but in malaysia, the defacto standard is the US wii, in american english

1. Your wii has been tempered, so in a way, its 2nd hand. that's why its cheap.
2. You are force to have learn some things about your wii to avoid bricking it. Make one mistake and your wii is doomed.
3. You will have issues related to modding, and fixing them (if you haven't brick you wii that is) will require you to have some indepth knowledge of your Wii (there are lot of forums to help you out though, but these forums are constantly bombarded by confused people asking confuse questions....just read www.afterdawn.com....).
4. Your wii is only good until nintendo introduces the next update version 5.0. Remember nintendo is very much against modding. So version 5.0 will DEFINITELY very likely work against the modded wii. so your future may not be so bright.
5. You will spend a great deal of time managing your modded wii. some people say its still worth the time (we all know why), but some people just want to play games and not worry about it.

1. modded wii mostly can go online.
2. modded wii mostly can purchase virtual console
3. Originnal wii (unmodded) can get from best denki. you will know it is unmodded just by the price of rm 12XX

the wii was meant to be purchased unmodded. but some people see the value of a modded wii. but with that value comes with issues, and it is hard to list these issues, coz it depends on lot of factors like what chip you have, what firmwaare you load in that chip, what update version your wii is on, and etc. That it is why it is called modded wii. it did not come out from the factory looking like that. and that is also the reason is hard to list of the problems you will face. So for peace of mind, buy unmodded. Else go ahead and buy modded, but be prepared to be hassled when things doesn't work the way it suppose to. Just go to the forums that specialize in these problems, and read through some of the questions people ask concerning modded wii, and you will get a glance what u will be potentially facing.

when you buy a laptop, do you request your windows xp to be original, or do you try to find a pirated copy and face the challenges that come with it. just apply the same decision making process in purchasing your wii. although a modded wii is not illegal like pirated windows xp, but it has the same end result. I don't see many people purchasing a modded wii solely to play region free original games.

u must mod it. if not hard mod, then soft mod. both have its risk of course. i read soft mod is even riskier, coz u playing with the wii operating system. just do lot of reading to know what u getting into.

What does modded Wii means?
means you modify your system from the original. You can modify by putting a chip (hardmod), or by changing the wii operating software system (softmod).
Why are there modded US Wii versions and modded Korea versions?
Wii system is by region. for example, if u have a us wii, you can't play japanese games, and vice versa. but if you mod the system, you can. but there are risk of doing that, that is why not everybody is doing it.
Are those illegal?
modding is illegal in some countries, but in malaysia it is not. but i must add people who mod are really looking at doing something illegal like software piracy more often than not. please don't assume its you. i am just stating statistica wise. software piracy in malaysia is illegal.
And what does multiregion version means?
once u mod a wii, it should be multiregion.

Basically if u are in malaysia you buy the US version. there are 2 other version - Japan and European/autralian, but they are rare in malaysia, and games are not readily available in retail outlets. So get the US version. in case your question is whether to get the modded or non-modded version: depends, but assuming the golden principal that stealing is evil, and u only intend to play games for one region, and you don't intend to be a wii engineer - i will always suggest the unmodded - the way it was meant to be - virgin, pure and simple to operate.

That's good.

Most people asking questions on mod vs unmodded wii's. Your preference is really up to you, weighing between a hassle free system on one extreme and 'do more with your wii' on the other. but software piracy is a big no in my books. and i hope it is the same for all malaysians too.

i want to be able to walk in to retail shop and be overwhelmed by the choice of games games which covers one whole wall. not just 15 ori games in a locked glass shelf, and then 5 binders full of the games i can't buy. i want to buy those games at 49 usd, and not rm 215. i want to be able to buy games days after it was released, and not use play-asia to buy all the time. and i want to be able to exchange games with my friends, but its unfair i can give them what they want, but not the other way. Say no to piracy!

u mean unlock the pirate in you? then its cheaper then u can ever imagine. sorry if i misunderstand, but i can only understand it this way

1. youtube. there lot of videos on gameplay (with video of people playing and corresponding onscreen game). that should be good enough
2. ask the shop for demo. don't buy from shops that can't do that.
3. just trust us and buy it. no regrets.

the DS does that. but not in a big way maybe (i think psp is more connected to his mother then DS)
the connections are game specific. meaning there are a few games that supports DS to Wii connectiviy.
You can also download DS games/demos from your wii to your DS. Think i am not expert on this, but i like to share what i know

just wondering what u what u want to transfer to your wii? coz game data like DLC is no transferrable between machines

my friend bought from UAE. They sell european PAL region wii, which is not compatible to games around here, unless it is modded. Think is definitely modded, otherwise they won't sell to u.

why don't u give a call to gamer's hideout to confirm. if unmodded, only 1 version can be sold in malaysia, that is the US version. I am sure gamer's hideout only sells us version leh, so maybe u mistaken.

actually most of the games sold in malaysia are in US english. maybe u were looking at japanese games, which are obviously in japanese. is hard to find japanese games in malaysia.

is is realy worth to get a wii? only u can answer that actually, coz different people have different taste. but here is some points:
get a 360/ps3 if:
1. You love your traditional gamecontroller, and don't want to change the way you play games.
2. You love HD graphics.
3. You love FPS and epic games (wii can't compete with these games)
4. Your idea of playing video games is not to sweat, or to stand.

get a wii if:
1 you like the idea of motion controlled games
2.you are new in gaming (have not used or love the traditional game controller)
3. You don't mind sweating and being up on your feet while playing

i remember reading 360/ps3 has sold more fps games then the wii. and there are more fps titles out there for 360/ps3 then the wii. i can count how many fps for wii actually - metroid 3, cod series, moh, and conduit. 4 saje. think 360/ps has way more then that. and most 360/ps3 fps are also epic titles, unlike the wii. i love how fps works on the wii. just love it! but i also understand some gamers just love their 360/ps3 controllers so much they don't want to play fps any other way.

i want to share the magic of the wii that u can't probably can't get in other consoles. coz i have experience this first hand. my wife never played video games; as in never, as in never in her life. When i bought the wii, she picked up the controller for the very first time and start playing wii sports with us. she loves it, and later on i bought boogie superstar, and again, she loves it!. and the best part is we can play, laugh and have real family fun. Now, think about it. This is a gamer (me) having fun with a non-gamer (my wife). This is exactly the magic of the Wii which other consoles are now trying to replicate with thier upcoming project natal and sony wand. If i bought i Ps3/360, I will just be playing alone, or with my online buddies, but never with my wife. So, that is the reason why Wii sells like crazy. coz people rather play with their love ones instead with themselves. Even a superior online feature that ps3/360 has can't beat this simple magic that wii has created.
