QUOTE(goldbaeq @ Dec 17 2009, 12:31 PM) Hi..there... I want to buy wii..but really dunt know where to buy...interested in modded since im not interested for online gaming (can play with ps3 tho)..any suggestion for the best price?what about wii fit n GH? i've read some comments that there is a whole or integrated peripheral for health freaks gamers..its for my wife actually.. you can play wii games online with a modded wii...just don't upgrade your firmware, meaning that don't connect to any official nintendo servers to perform a firmware upgrade as for the 003 issue, there are game shops which i think may be possible to fix this issue (i know Singapore has one through googling), but it is one of the most difficult issues to fix, hence not many will be able to fix this (i don't know which shop in malaysia may be able to fix this issue though) however, with a LOT of soft modding skills, you will be able to fix this for "free" (that is if you know what you are doing) otherwise, just buy a new wii and don't perform an official firmware update anymore...XD(you can perform a "safe" firmware update with softmodding skills)

QUOTE(afif95 @ Dec 17 2009, 06:18 PM) Grand Slam Tennis still needs motion+ though. Heh, you could look at those knock-off sports game (Deca Sports) if you want, but I doubt you'd want that. There's nothing to do here except suck it up and buy one or two Motion+ already. I've already bought it and I'm only in middle school (With a few side-jobs), so why can't you? Grand Slam Tennis able to play the game with or without M+

.......... Oh.
Wait a sec, oh yeah, I remember playing that game without M+, worst experience ever due to the motion being irresponsive as hell. That's when I plugged in my M+, and wowed at the difference.
Trust me, it's a purchase you'll never regret. What with Red Steel 2 coming next year.

Want to ask:
1. What is 'softmod'? Where can I learn more about it. Tried googling but most results are too general, most non-wii specific.
2. What does 'defiled' mean? Is it the same meaning as 'bricked'?
3. I see some shops selling 'region-free' set. This means modded right?
4. Why original is RM900+, but these region-free is selling at RM800+? I thought modded should be more expensive.

1. softmod is when you modify your wii by changing the factory default software (also called firmware). it is unauthorized by nintendo and with its risk. gbatemp.net, afterdawn.com, wiihacks.com. 2. no cpmments never heard of defiled 3. definitely.no exceptions 4. coz a. its 2nd hand and tampered already. d. warranty is not by nintendo, only by the shop, if any.

well...softmod, like ramz said...you can learn more about it on those sites... but to me, soft modding probably is just through installing HomeBrewChannel (HBC)...and you can install "stuffs" from then on by yourself...hence, the term softmodding
defiled, i have no idea, but probably it may be due to 4.2 clearing your system of HBC...hence...the term defiled?
region free is selling at a lower price because it's a korean wii...which is cheaper than the US/PAL ori sets, and no guarantees by nintendo...
you can call it a 2nd hand set...because it had been powered up and tempered by others to installs the HBC channel...and other stuffs i guess...but otherwise...it will be as good as new i suppose (just be sure to ask whether is it 2nd hand or not b4 purchasing)

not here to solve your problem. but to tell u why u having this problem. NSMB wii got advance copy protection that tak ngaam with modded wiis. For hardmodded wii (chipped wii), there is no solution to date by the 'invinsible' modding community. but for softmodded there is already a way, but as usual is not straight forward like ABC. if u rajin go learn more about it in hacking forums. if u tak rajin, maybe somebody in this forum can help u (sorry i am dumb too when comes to modding)
i think what gundamalpha is saying is just update your firmware to version 4.2. That will effectively remove all the sofmod crap u have (4.2. does that with or without your consent, with pleasure), then u can play your NSMB. correct mr gundamalpha?

furthermore, if he runs 4.2 with his wii...i'll say that his wii will get bricked as...most likely it's a korean wii

hi guys, new Wii owner here.
i've got a korean set LKM107xx Wii running Neo Gama R7, whatever that is. I tried to find more info about it but all i can find is installation guide.
question 1) does this mean i have a soft-mod wii? 2) mine has "softchip", "home brew channel", "neo gamma" and "gamma/backup channel", from day 1 so is this becoz its been modded? does the original/un-modded wii have this? 3) anyone know the "official" website so i can read up more about this neo gamma thing? what it does, latest release, etc.. 4) when i bought this wii, the shop told me its a new revision of the wii, and thats why he's charging me RM50 more. anyone can tell me wats the difference between this revision or did i get cheated? 5) so if i were to buy games in the future, do i get PAL or NTSC or USA version of the games?

well, you have yourself a soft modded wii alright...
as for R7...well, all i can tell you about is you pay additional stuff for things that you can dl online if you know how and what to do
as for softmods and korean set...typical malaysian games you can play...don't really need to care much about region...LOL

QUOTE(ramz @ Dec 15 2009, 08:48 PM) i started off with the wii. up to today i am satisfied with it because its really is a family bonding tool. but deep inside me i know i am missing something. i play pc games too, but i use my pc for work, so i can't belasah the pc with games only. besides, my pc is coming on 2 years, and new games can't play on it anymore. so recently i bought a ps3, and that really fills the gaps i have been craving for: mature games. wii have great mature games, but mature games on the ps3 is premium, as how family games on the wii is premium. So what should u get: i say get both, coz only with 2 consoles i feel complete. but if u need to choose only one, get what u place most priority: family games or mature games. as they say, family always comes first. and that is why wii is so damn popular. good luck in your soul searching. add me in ur PSN friend list

sure will! but next year. i have temporary seperated with my ps3 coz i am on christmas holiday.
anyway fyi, i m not online often on my ps3. is a long story, but the short version is i am constantly on the move (but i do drag that bulky thing with me). so i only have this usb mobile modem that connects me to the internet. i can still connect my ps3 via ICS, but is very mafaan as need to do a 3 minute setup. and as u know usb mobile modem is not good for online playing. so i only use it for game updates. there isn't any broadband on market that are mobile and low latency at the moment. so damn xien man.
i think i just told the long version of the story.
