as i know that if red light blink 3 times meaning the console is overheating

That wasnt too obvious when its started , but it were made worst when 3.0 released..

Have you ever considered that those PS3s had gotten older/more used by the time FW3.0 came out?

How the hell is a FW update supposed to overheat a machine?

wth is going on with my PS3!!

I just got my lens replaced 4 days ago. Today, the problem returns and I can't read discs again!! This is annoying as hell!

I have an original 1st generation PS3 60 GB singapore model. It also had the YLOD but warranty covered that and it was replaced and fixed.

Anyone know what causes the lens to be faulty? Especially a brand new one??? It was working fine and I didn't expect it to break down THIS soon!

just dismantle my ps3 and cleaned all the dust still the fan kicks in fast after play like 20min.

Have a look at those threads and sites out there..and come back to me if anyone has not complained bout the firmware..i'll keep myself away of the thread..

I read on PSN forum that this one guy put his YLOD to direct sunlight for 3 hours (without sun oil )
then he plug then on again..walah it work again

That's a joke , even a high measurement heat machine could not fix it, how can sun do that..that's weird..good article though..

our beloved ps3 is like a car.... overtime machine will breakdown in some point of time...

like my 60gb launch unit, if there was gaming hour counter built-in, i'd say i've spent 10,000+ hrs in its lifetime until ylod (i'm always worried that it might/will breakdown - just don't know when exactly)

fw updates so far no prob... how many years from fw1.xx - fw3.xx?

unless you just bought ps3 recently and update fw under normal circumstances, straightaway ylod.... now thats a big issue...

those forums/blog abt ylod.... i take it as a precaution but not exaggerated until paranoia

don't want to update fw, fine...

can't say that I'm not concern with complaints that people blame on fw update caused their ps3 ylod, cos I do have some friends had the same problem for fw 2.xx something (I think)...but its not like I can do anything if speculations are true, unless I just wanna stay offline playing with old games, don't bother with upcoming new games along with new fw updates then

IMHO, just play and update like usual, worried too much doesn't make you feel better..but do take precautions
