sony and canon will both have their pros and cons... but this being a nikon thread, of course we'll ask u to choose nikon. between the D60 and D3000, the D3000 would be the better value for money

QUOTE(ReasonsofThanatos @ Sep 7 2009, 05:26 PM) xcuse me guys..wanna ask somethin...im plannin 2 get a decent entry lvl dslr...now choosing btw nikon D60,D3000,Sony Alpha a230,and a Canon EOS 1000D....which is do u pros think is d best??worth every single penny that kind of good...=p well, i wont be one-sided on my suggestionif u wan to buy more lenses in the future but prefer to spend less, go for Canon or Sony Canon lenses mostly r cheaper than Nikon's coz all standard have built-in motor Sony stuffs will be the cheapest among the 3, the lenses n flash r considerably cheaper but u better hold n try the Sony 1st, cos the new design r compact n small, whether u like it or not if u wan Nikon, D3000 is definitely better, as it is newer than D60 but almost the same price n D3000 kit lens is the VR ver, unlike latest D60 stock comes with non VR kit lens |

Both has it's pros and cons.. Im not sure about this but I the A230 has built in stabilization for any lens you use and built in motor so you dont need to buy lenses with built in motor and can use older minolta lenses with no probs.. On the other hand the D3000 has 11 vs 9 focus points on A230. D3000 also has a 3 inch LCD vs 2.7in on the A230 and higher flash sync speed than A230... You need to properly check the specs again for other comparisons..i just give out some of it... MOST IMPORTANT of ALL...go and hold both in your hands.. if it feels right then take it.. |

wow...thank all of u 4 d precious info....
ya my budget is ard 2k...so D5000 is out of my consideration..though i've read abt it n thinks tat it's great...actually i also prefered nikon, as i did some comparison with other models i stated..but i haven thought abt d feel when holding it in my hand though @.@ i've hold D60 and D3000 be4 n they feel much similar 2 each other, cept i feel D3000 is slightly smaller n better in grip n button arrangement...So i'll try 2 get ahold on Sony A230 too later...but sadly both d nikon model dont have live view... And i heard Sony can only use its own manufactured lenses n minolta lenses right?so they're cheaper than nikkor's as well...ok i'll put all these in my consideration.hopefully i can join d big family XD |

live view izit so important to you?? the purpose of using dslr is through the viewfinder...although nowaday the dslr camera would have live view...but look carefully...there is some delay on the live view...this is the rough info i could give...for more detail you need to search on the web...or maybe there is another sifus here can help explain to you...=)

I would not say that Live view is a must but it can be useful at times such as: super low angles or super high angles.Besides, it will be easier for others to use too, esp when u need someone to take photo on behalf.... Sony's live view focuses pretty fast... |

sony's Live View is the fastest at the moment if not mistaken, due to a dedicated sensor or something... I tried before, the A300 was my target before the D5k came out

yeah..correct.Live view is good for awkward position shooting, most of the new dlsr nowadays are built with live-view for more user-friendly shooting or video recording modeor self-shooting自拍
nevertheless,im still prefer viewfinder and dont really use live view function unless i wanna record any video |
