QUOTE(Jcsy @ Nov 24 2009, 10:21 AM) p4 thread talking about AMD cpu liao, hahaha anyways hang at bios a few weeks ago and it was coz my CPU was overheating (heat sink not placed properly with fan) your CPU / RAM ok? haha, a lot of us jumping ship d i managed to solve my problem by downgrading the bios. now everything seems fine. looks lke the new bios didn't like my processor

lol actually u wrong
our P4 generates more heat and consumes more power
it uses a bigger die on the CPU
nowadays those i5 i7 uses a smaller die, which uses less power and creates less heat
our default S478 proc generates about 60C idle, while later intel models just generates 40C idle (this varies on the cooling ure using ) mine sucks.. but generally thats
casing is important, to a certain degree..

@Jcsy,Northwood based core can idle at 32-33 degree C with stock cooling. Prescoot idle would be 45-48 degree C on stock cooling. Your P4 idle at 60 degree C ?

actually my point was more of the heat generated in latest CPU are actually lower and uses less power than previously old CPU old CPU are the really old ones the more CPU advances it uses less heat and power hence dual and quad and tricore

WTF? Hmmp... my electricity bill still remains the same.

yup.. currently minimal or rather, not properly spreaded perhaps
thermal paste also some ciplak 1 and stock cooling
the stock cooling also kind of looks dodgy

dint use thermal paste. No wonder it is 60. Hmmp... such big difference with and without those white stuff... Sometimes, you think something is useless but it is really helpful.
