@ianho Lol.. As Jcsy says, I bet Windows 7 will run even better with ya rigs. As the kernel are tweaked and run better then vista. There were a video shown one guy running Windows 7 on a Pentium 2 computer.

There were a video shown one guy running Windows 7 on a Pentium 2 computer. I know coz I tried Win7 on my HP Mini Note. It was awesome. Nice eye candy like Vista but fast like XP. I lazy to reinstall everything again once the beta time is up though. So I went with Vista for this rig. I just set it up to run on extra 1gb Ready Boost, everything's nice so far. Mebe later when windows gets all cluttered up it will slowdown but for now on fresh install everything's ok.

QUOTE(llutephie @ May 23 2009, 12:02 AM) Suddenly think to upgrade OCZ PC4000 500MHz RAM BTW i think my rig is better now Why OCZ 500MHz?Simply get a Hynix chip based RAM to do the job man. Another cheaper solution. You can run 3D mark to justify how much it's faster compare to your previous 3.2E. Added on May 23, 2009, 12:47 amYour current Kingston RAM can't do DDR500? @llutephie OMG! Finally u found the beast? What a nice hunt down man.. Btw, is it a ES version? Haha.. 500 eh.. Price of a quaddie! Btw, if a year ago u asked me, i do have what u need. My Patriot PDP Extreme PC4200. 533mhz by default, no sweat of doing DDR600. Any benchmark showdown?

QUOTE(ianho @ May 23 2009, 12:35 PM) Hehe. Since I'm in a nostalgic fever these past few days. I went to my storeroom, dug out another rig from a deep dark corner n revived another dinosaur. This 1 really dinosaur. P4 1.7ghz, 256mb ram and a big huge 20gb HDD. @ianho,i do have the same rig as yours but it's a S423 based. It's still working strong since year September 2001.
