yes, and we don't buy HDDs one shot, we acquire them as needed. different time different sizes different prices. that's why u c mine and fylon's HDD varies in capacities.

RAID means double the HDDs, hohoho... icon_rolleyes.gif

PCI expansion cards bottlenecks the transfer speed, but good enough for normal storage.

Today I have RM1, doesn't mean I still got RM1 next month.
Well, basically fylon explained everything.
In the end, its the money and needs factor. When I build my C2D rig, 500GB I think it's more than enough. Then when I convert my P4 into server, I itchy go download 720p and 1080p movies and begin to ditch DVDRips and my storage needs eventually grows. laugh.gif

The IDE one I also got, but not worthy la. 1 to 1. If I use that also, I can cucuk another one, but in long term, there must be another solution also.
Coz my plan is to acquire a 808GB first, then followed by a 1TB or 1.5TB depends on the RM/Gb yield in future.

*Sorry if my statement is a lil confusing. I'm on drugs here. Sick. sad.gif*

Mr. edmin, the readyboost does help a lot? Have never tried it before. So far just disable the virtual memory usage only.

to me, yes, in windows 7. win7 can use more than 1 readyboost device. it speeds up my apps loading time. shutdown is also faster. just make sure your USB handydrives are fast enough, else it serves no purpose and might slow you down.

@V12Kompressor,your PSU has too much juice which can't be produce. Why? Because old school like us doesn't need that much juice from your PSU.I guess by using 50% of your rated juice is very sufficient already. drool.gif Currently my Acbel 450w is able to support my rig as under my signature and 4* 12cm Cooler Master fan.

No concern over there. The external HDD will only require to plug both usb plugs when your PC can't detect the external HDD by 1 plug.

oh..
so if can be detected by using one plug no problem.
but if cant be detected then use 2 plugs.
thanks for that explanation..
the other plug is for extra power right?

no. u will notice the dual USB header, the secondary header equipped with power wirings only, not data. that's just in case the USB port cannot supply enough power to the HDD using the main USB header.
