QUOTE(raymond5105 @ Jul 31 2009, 09:41 AM) @bai,IP35E,a good mobo too. Get your self a E8400? Your Celeron 1.7GHz might be 128kb of L2 cache only if i'm not mistaken. @alex,what is your next plan?Maybe you can get yourself a VIA based S478 mobo? becareful of which CPU u put in the IP-35E. Since Abit is already out of business, that also means that the BIOS support also gone kaput. The latest bios rev.18 does not support E0 steppings, a latest (and should be the last available update) is the bios rev.18 beta that unofficially supports E0 steppings (not available in official website). PM me if you want the bios update. I am using that version.

i was wondering for those who have PCI-e on their mobo. have anyone tried using maybe a GTX 260 Sonic 216 SP on their P4 system? will it run? whats the performance? does it damage the GC?

U can do that, just make sure your PSU is up to the task. But seriously you are bottlenecking the entire system! Your performance will be hindered heavily by your CPU

You can run any pci-e gc on it, but what's the point of putting a high end gc on an old spec? it will not be able to give out it's best performance, just like putting a brand new ferrari engine into a kapchai chassis. definately the kapchai chassis won't be able to take the speed and power of the ferrari engine rite

just for curiosity purposes though want to know how much % performance increase does it get and how much is the hardcap. >_> i was thinking about it years ago if i put high end part into low end setup what will it become. since i will be having my complete new rig soon why not try it out ^ ^

Get a try with GTX295 + P4 EE. You can see the performance.

QUOTE(dlwl @ Aug 11 2009, 10:22 PM) talking about P4 EE, what's the highest clocked P4 EE around? 3.8GHz? S478's top clock is at 3.4GHz only. 3.8GHz is LGA775 if i'm not wrong. I have never seen P4 3.6GHz and 3.8GHz in here. These toys are really rare.
