please, i need the fresh link to install the redshow. the links posted above seem not working anymore.

just choose from any of the links of redsn0w 0.7.2 from the #4 post of this thread. the older version worked flawlessly.

i think 0.7.1 better, more smooth than 0.7.2 abit lag... hope v0.8 will be better.....
do i need to restore 1st b4 jb or just can straightly jb without restore to firmware3.0? help pls......

edit: v0.8 complete download but still can't decide which to jb, v0.7.1 or v0.8???? help pls......

I tried v0.8 on my iphone 3g, only install cydia this time..work fine....

hi there, this could be caused by ur iphone not having the settings required to access the data services. if thats the problem then its easy to fix. Go to 'settings', 'general' and 'network' . you shld then find 'cellular network settings' or ' data settings'. u shld then be at a page where you got to type in your apn, user, password.

I was on Celcom 3g so i used, apn=Celcom 3g, User=User, and Password=Wap. It worked fine after that. I have since changed to Maxis and this setting no longer appears. Could be because its been preset by Maxis.

newbie iPhone owner here. my iPhone 3G's Cydia app keeps saying there's 2 updates, but whenever i try to either "Upgrade Essentials" or "Complete Upgrade", i just get a lot of "Cache Failure" popups & i don't think it's updated at all.

is this a repo/server issue or so should i be re-installing Cydia?

i tried using Icy also & i managed to d/l OpenSSH, but so far nothing else (i'm trying to d/l BossPrefs right now, else i've got SSH always on) cos even Icy is giving me the "Cache Failure" thing or occasionally "Network Timed Out".

I had the same problem. You'll have to restore to 3.0, RE-jailbreak (DO NOT INSTALL ICY, ONLY CYDIA) and then unlock your phone again with ultrasn0w.

ICY seems to be the culprit here.

i helped my friend to upgrade to 3.0 from a JB 2.2.1. then JB using redsn0w

new 3.0 software can tether from iphone to computer. how about if want to use the pc connection to iphone ?

I remeber using my windows based PDA to exactly that, which means pc has got internet connection, can use it on the iphone from some software or itunes or something, which im not sure how.

well my PDA days was years back which was possible im sure iphone is capable.

Isit possible ?

Dunno why so slow to open apps,sometimes hangs..i just restore to original firmware..why actually this happens??..Do you experience this problem?? TQ

try to restore and re-jailbreak again. might be the phone running on low memory. check what background processes are running.

Hi, I had previously jailbreak my iphone using guide by David to version 2.2 (5G77) , carrier 2.9, modem firmware 02.28.00. Honestly i did it blindly(just following instruction) and installed many 3rd party application (also blindly following instruction) and my iphone is working fine untill now.

If im to update my phone to OS 3.0, does that means i have to restore everything and jailbreak again and install back my 3rd party application? ( very time consuming)

can i just update to OS3 by using itune 8.2 straight away?

the reason for me to update here is to use the SMS, MMS so i can delete the bitesms and also hoping that it can run a bit faster than now..... or will that be the other way round in reality?

are u using an officially-unlocked set?

for the bolded statement, yes you will need to redo the whole jailbreaking process and re-install Cydia apps. (if that's the "3rd party" that u meant)

just follow the guide provided on the first page. the whole restore/update and jailbreak process took me less than an hour. installing Cydia apps is an ease too if you have a stable/fast internet connection.
