after 3 times of re-doing it .
finally i got a signal on the iphone 2g.

neways heres some update on how i do it:-

-i restore the phone back to zero by clicking the restore button on the itunes.
-then i jailbreak it using redsn0w 0.7.2. During this process i tick all the option given @ cydia , icy & unlock (<---before this i just tick cydia)
-then key in the Bootloader 3.9 & 4.6
-then follow up the steps
-walaaaa u are now good to go to use your iphone and it automatically detect your network

hope this can help any iphone2g user that have a similar problem like me !

I don't think i read anyone having this particular problem of mine... i may have missed it thou. Ok i have JB my 2G iphone successfully and using it right now but some how ah a lot of ppl tried to call me it goes to voice message and my phone didn't ring at all then after a while i will get an SMS from Maxis about the missed call. This happens very often but at times someone can actually call thru. Previously i was running on 2.x.x it doesn't happen. No idea why this happens.

Oh mine have signal and ppl can call me but a lot of times ppl can't get thru.

Must I patch with something to localize or something something?

try putting in another sim card and check...maybe your sim card problem...i had such a case

Well... previous version it works well and also my signal is superb. Uhmmm issit because i used redSnow 0.7.1 instead of 0.7.2?

I have also succeeded in upgrading to 3.0, thanks to all here especially the useful steps at the first post of this thread. However, i experience one small problem. When in Cydia, the right hand panel(where u can directly go to the item based on the alphabetical order) is no longer containing the alphabets. Wonder if this is normal..

is normal...... everyone is facing d same problem.....hopefully saurik will do something on this issue...

erm juz want to ask how do i install cydia into my iphone? i haf read a few threads and i get a link like http://www.modmyi.com/cydia/search.php and it directs me to a website where i couldnt find cydia anywhere...any guidelines on installing cydia into my iphone ?

u can install cydia thru redsnow or pwnagetool (in order to install cydia u must jailbreak your iphone)

IT should not be more than 15 minute!! i been stressing it for sometime.

1)If you XP user, go into safemode and redsnow it

2) Vista pls try set compatibility to xp and run as ADMIN, if cannot go into safe mode and set compatibility to xp and run as admin then go REdsnow.

is done already thanx...i only tick cydia and not icy...it seems that i haf to tick both lol..

If not mistaken, it is for people who using Ultrasnow, and people who use ultrasnow will have the push mail broken, so to delete the files, and put in at&t (activated or not )sim card to make sure u can use push notification.

P/S are you the kanzaki i know from AM forum? if not then nvm >.<

my JB process when rebooting the iphone is taking way longer than 15 mins already...should i turn off the iphone n redo everything again?

your OS pls? XP, try safemode..

where to download latest redsn0w , my redsnow 0.7 just hanging in the process not moving..
