what happen to me was because the push email notification was on. Try to change it to manual instead. It works for me like a charm once I turn it to manual. Better batt life.. and no more obvious lagging.

better to update or restore?
insert sim card or not in the upadate or restore process?
if update or restore, baseband change or not? if change, what baseband will it be?
can jailbrake or not coz with bootloader 05.09 cannot downgrade baseband right?
i read from page 1 till end but find different answer... please help...

ok....if u choose update it will update u to d latest firmware and will retain whatever data u have in your iphone......but if u choose restore it will restore u to d factory default setting where it will wipe out all your data in iphone.
it make no different either u insert or u dun insert your sim card while doing update or restore.
y r u worry about baseband update? your iphone is officially unlock n can survive thru future firmware update from apple.
the only ppl worry about baseband update is those ppl r having the locked iphone.
all model of iphone can be jailbreak except iphone 3GS cant be jailbreak at the moment.
just read d first page all d important message is there....clear?

hopefully it works. I tested 2 times so far ok ... but i still getting a lot of missed calls SMS for now... T_T

I am not sure you can do this but you can try it out.

Restore using iTunes by pressing Shift + Click Restore and click on the ipw file.

if you are successful then you just do all over again your redsnow or others.

are u sure it fails to restart?
it might start up slower tho

I notice one more thing about this redsnow 0.72 is that when i go to Cydia to try to update it or install OpenSSH or OpenSSL it comes out this error "Couldn't configure pre-depend dpkg for grep, probably a dependency cycle."

Any one out there having this problem?

I don't think this if i use redsnow 0.71.

did u install Icy too during the jailbreak process? try to re-jailbreak again without installing Icy this time.

if you need Icy, install it through Cydia after the jailbreak.

hello,,, sorry i am new to jb and unlock

currently i m having lock iphone 3g with 2.28 baseband and still on version 2.2 running on yellowsn0w
i had read through tutorial on upgrading to iphone os 3.0 but got confusion on the version of itunes to use,, according to devteam that the itunes 8.2 can lock the pwn and jailbreak and there's also people use the latest itunes to upgrade to OS 3.0.
so which version of itunes to use if i want to restore to iphone OS 3.0?

you will need to update iTunes to 8.2 before proceed with update/restore to FW 3.0 on your iPhone.

hmm, i'm unclear about how to unlock the phone.
download the Redsn0w 0.7.2 .
after upgrading the firmware to 3 in itunes and then just run the Redsn0w 0.7.2? is it that simple?

basically, u'll hv 2 jailbreak n then install ultrasnow

If you are a jailbreak phone before, it adviseable to use restore mode to set the phone back to factry setting. Alot issue with jailbreak phone when upgraded to OS3, even if you restore fom backup after Restore mode.

For myself, i would advise you keep all the contact,sms,mail, etc , and then after restore, select as new phone rather than restore from backup.
