I did encounter before after JBed with blackra1n, it shows "No WiFi" at the WiFi column there.
I restarted the iPhone (for a while 1 or 2 minutes) then turn ON again it resolved.

Do try out Reset Network Settings as well, as GeoHot blog does state on that issue.
click [ Here ] to find out. It works for most people out there.

it's happen to me to....but after restart once...the problem gone....

That is the only JB solution available for now.. As your bootroom is new & no vulnerability being exploit yet...

Apple seems to be overwhelmed by the jailbreaking community and they are looking to hire engineers specialized in security exploits.” The team is responsible for secure booting and installation of the OS, partitioning and hardening of security domains within the OS, cryptographic services, and risk analysis of security threats. The team is made up of a variety of security experts with backgrounds in system security and reverse engineering.”

apple security exploits 219x400 Apple Scared Of Jailbreking Community, Looks To Hire Security Exploits Engineers

This position requires a very technical and hands-on leader, someone with a passion for understanding security exploits and coming up with innovative methods to create secure platforms. You must be a highly self-motivated individual who seeks to create a dynamic and creative team environment in which old problems are solved in new and innovative ways.

They are trying to increase security of the iPhone/iTouch while booting and when installing the OS. Also they talk about a partition encryption service, which means they want to prevent installation of custom firmwares.

This all sounds really bad, but the worst thing that they can do to us, is to delay all the future hacks. As long as trusted and devoted people like the iPhone DevTeam won’t join the dark side we are safe.

This is not something that you can learn at school. It is beyond all of that, and it is called “passion”. Just like Apple has an enormous passion for their products.

Good luck Apple, i wish you the best, but as long as there will be phones, there will be phreaking.

Hi all, need some help here. I tried use blackra1n on my iPhone 3G 3.1.2. Under blackra1n after recovery.. it just stucks at running... my iPhone does not show the GeoHot recovery image, right now it is showing the default recovery mode (picture of USB pointing to iTunes). I can't turn it off by pressing the power-off button long time, what should I do now?. Thanks.

Thanks kebeckham7. After pressing home and power button yes it turned off, rebooted and now I'm back to my normal iphone usage. The springboard and applications are still running ok.

Should I rerun blackra1n as what you have mentioned?. I think my office notebook has some security settings causing it to crash. Was thinking to rerun it on my home pc instead.

For those with the newest 3GS model, where ur seriel number, 4th and 5th digit are 41 and above, means u have the new bootrom thingy, which means is the so-called tethered jailbreak.

so when u reboot or shutdown or installed app that requires rebooting, u will go into recovery mode and can't do anything but dun panic. Just execute the blackra1n again and make it rain, it will reboot it back as before. So while u are outside, dun simply install app that reboots or turn off ur iPhone.

Another problem is that, sometimes can become No Service and cannot do anything. To steps to solve it is to take out ur sim card and insert back while ur iPhone is still turned on. This is for the case if u are outside and don't have computer. So must always bring a pin around. If you have computer with you, u can shutdown it down, then blackra1n boot it up and can get ur network already..

Hope this helps, anyone got any fix or solution, please share ya. I read in some post saying turn off and on the 3G, Edge or Airplane mode, but all no use sad.gif

blackra1n can only activated ur phone...but if u used blackra1n for 2g...automatically the snow will be disable....2g doesn't need the snow bro...used bootleader to unlock

yes if u got tethered iphone...i think u can stick with jailed phone....may be that is the best solutions for them....if they still insist to stay with JB...so they sanggup to run blackra1n everytime they reboot their phone

where did u download the FW from...mostly we will get files with .ipsw type. u click restore in the itunes and then itunes will download the firmware automatically from apple server. depends on what type of iphone u owned. if 3gs about 306mb 3g about 270mb 2g 229mb. after finished restore ur phone , run blackra1n to activate and unlock(3g and 3gs) ur iphone
