yeah hehe i also cant wait to jailbreak my 3gs..hopefully the dev team will release the jailbreak real soon..just out of curiosity, for factory unlocked iphone we no nid to consider bout what version of modem firmware that we're currently using in order to jailbreak.. am i right ???

i upgraded my 2g from 3.0 to 3.1,
not much functions added, only realize the copy/paste function in the dialing pad.

i2g with rw3.1 can work without error ??????

unlock and jailbreak are 2 different thing. Why lots of lock phones owner waiting for jailbreak? because they need to jailbreak first to unlock it.

To jailbreak, it does not matter if your's are factory unlock or lock phones. If your phone comes preloaded with fw3.1 or OTB (Out of The Box), then you are out of luck in jailbreaking (only applies for 3Gs phones).

Why?
Becoz of the ECID and SHSH thing. To be able to jailbreak fw3.1, you must have the 3.0 @ 3.0.1 ECID and SHSH. If you grab the ECID and SHSH for 3.1, then you can only jailbreak fw3.1.x or 3.2 in the future.

Ok I want to simulate a worst case situation here... imagine i3GS (synced and backup with iTunes) on FW3.0.1 trying to JB, but screw up in the middle of the JB or phone cannot turn on after JB. The only way is to do a restore, will it be able to restore back to FW3.0.1 cause already sync and backup using iTunes before JB?

Hi guys, Im having a problem with my iPhone. I just jailbreak-ed it and wanted to go to the website to install the program for 3rd party application in cydia but the link doesnt work. I couldn't sync my applications into my iPhone. Anyone to guide me? Im new to iPhone. =/

oww bad news for those who have 3.1 Out of the box (OTB) / upgraded to 3.1 without their ECID backed up...but dont worry, chronic dev team is going to release greenp0ison soon that will work on 3.1 OTB too.
