QUOTE(prasys @ Apr 28 2009, 05:36 PM) The government being soo nice , offered her a loan and she doesn't' want to repay it back. Serves he right. That's Malaysian. At the end , younger generations would have to suffer because of the actions by folks such as TS' friend ! Be thankful to the government for giving you monetary support to go on with your life (i mean your education) The mod has spoken. Can lay the thread to rest naw

The government can be nice IF they remove the damn interest rate 3%. It's not fair & i just want to pay back whatever I have borrowed. This interest rate is riba'. Riba' in Islam is HARAM & I'd say remove this interest rate once and for all! I still remember last time one of the PAS manifesto if they win the PRU 12, they would do away with the interest rate. How I wish PAS would win! hahaaha! Fair right? You pay for what you borrow. The extra bunga/interest is out of the question here. I'm still following up with PTPTN on the reduction of the interest rate to 1.5%...but they all kept telling me: "Maaf encik. Kami masih dalam proses mengemaskini data2 peminjam. Ada di antara mereka yg telah bertukar alamat rumah". They kept telling me this bullshit many times already! Just my 2 cents!

PAS dun charge interest. But in Islamic banking, there'll be agreed return to the lender. Which is something like interest also. QUOTE(harrychoo @ Apr 28 2009, 06:50 PM) then can u borrow me 20k? I also pay some lah. But the interest rate is what makes me kinda hesitate to pay, seeing that every month that i pay only to remove the interest, whereas the actual balance doesnt move at all. F**K lah like this. Oh well.. PTPTN oh PTPTN..

RM2000. Monthly need to pay RM500. The interest generated each month is RM200. Need to pay for 20 years. Now, talk about paying the bills, supporting parents, car loan, house loan, etc.. Maybe paying RM50 per month not such a bad idea?
