like this... boot in with windows instalation room. Then choose instal. when they give option which drive to unstal. click advance option then format that drive lo. then install new windows

install with win vista ultimate 32bit everything fine . except the temperature when playing games like left4dead ,
for dota . cpu wont shoot up to 100c

dota is a very sien game now. 6.59d map alot of hack.orge can stun 100times. play until wan hit people. waiting for cod:mw2 hope this laptop can support

regarding the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450 clock speed and memory speed, it should be
Core Speed 500 MHz
Shader Speed 500 MHz
Memory Speed 700 MHz
but in our laptop, it gets lowered to 300 corespeed/memory speed 500mhz.
well i am downgrading my bios to the oldest version see what will happen. wish me good luck.

here i have attached the screenshot of my laptop running on f03 bios. i have just downgraded the bios from f45 to f03 safely, nothing happened for my downgrade but i dont suggest you to do so.
shady, here is the answer you wanted all along haha. and btw, can you post up your screenshot just like mine showing the gpu and bios version? hope you will pin this up.

So it is true then. The newer bios downgrades the clock speed.
Anyone willing to spend the time to take this research to the next level?
Do some benchmarks with the default speed and compare it with the downgraded speed.

my bios is f. 45 and inside win7 RC 64bit.
would it bcos of different OS?

Nope, I'm on Vista 64 and my speed is the same as yours - 300mhz default clock.

i think no need, it is obvious that hp is lowering the clock speed

Thanks for checking that for me. I can confirm that the default speed when I first bought my laptop last year was 500mhz for both Core and Memory, I frequently update BIOS so I'm not sure after which version my core became 300mhz. Anyway manufacturers are free to set clock speed for their products to get good balance of battery life and heat produced. Btw, heres my screenshot.



I can confirm BIOS version is different. Newer one is clocked only 300mhz. Now I got to find the newest BIOS which still has the old video BIOS. Anyone can give me link for all the BIOS for these models? I dont play much game with my laptop but 200mhz is quite alot for a low end card, especially memory bandwith is limited, core clock is essential for getting high performance.

OS and drivers doesnt affect default video card clock speed. Only power saving features lower down clocks but default clock is in video card's BIOS.

i am lazy to test 1 by one and now i am just sticking with f03. for those who curious does it really add performance, i feel abit faster when spamming shiva with wtf in dota with 1280x800 all setting set to high, with the new firmware, i spam shiva and i got abit delay when want to run, now at the old firmware, at least i can still walk. better abit la for me but shady if you free you can do some benchmark. i am lazy to do so haha

where to download F03 bios? tq..

Thanks for the link. I suspect F33 for F36 is the newest BIOS with old video BIOS.

I think all will downclock to 110mhz during idle. BIOS wont affect that but driver is the one which manages power saving. One thing weird, my core will clock at 547mhz when playing HD videos using Media Player classic and enable UVD2. I didnt try any games yet. Why dont u try all the BIOS and report back here? Im busy with exams lately.
