check HP website....last time i had that problem too...it was flashing 3 times that repeat again....
from the website it stated...that it is a RAM problem...i had to clean the RAM and reseat...than i can on my laptop...

i dun think it'll reach tat high if u're running it wif good ventilation. most probably it'll reach around 80

my CQ40 can shoot up until 96c for prime95 . with turion RM74 2.2ghz

i would like to know do amd or compaq improve in this new model .

i downlaoded my graphic card driver from Here and they have the driver for mobility radeon. i dont need to use mobility modder anymore.

anyone here bought the new Compaq CQ42-203AU with AMD P320 + ATi HD4250? wanna get some feedback..

My dvdrom is dead..any idea how to repair it? Did you guys think if I update the firmware it should be ok?

It can detect cd/dvd..but whenever I try to open files inside cd/dvd, myy lappie failed

Ok, guess what, after I flashed the BIOS from version 4A to 49, all the problem gone. Not even can read the data properly, now I can write/burn the data properly ...thanks guys! Very nice info on 1st page...keep it up

Anybody experience overheated CPU temperature after bios upgrade? Mine around 98C after flashed to v 4.9

my cq40-401ax cannot turn on again... now the LED blink 4 times indicate there is a GPU problem... anyone got tips how to solved it? warranty finish already....

dude, pray hard it start working again then quickly go to HP center n extend d warranty. shud cost RM2xx iinm

even aftr u're warranty had been due long b4, still it can be extended for a year only after d technician checks all d parts to make sure its original n working to enable u to receive d warranty

i've done it b4 btw...

never know about that , just remember the T&C .
