Hi guys, i am still confused which telco to go with, i need a prepaid just for 3 weeks, so i want the lowest overall expense, I don't need to make a lot of calls, just several SMS to local mobiles, i'd like to pay 5sen/sms if possible, as i will need to send a lot of SMS/day. So no internet, 3g, overseas calls, etc.. I really just need is a SMS package, like 200, or 300 sms, and i need to know which telco offers that? Should i go with Tunetalk, Xpax, Happy prepaid, Hotlink, or Diji best prepaid? I think Happy, and Tunetalk requires the SIM to be ordered online, and delivered via post. I prefer to buy my SIM in shop, if possible.

Me!. Used to love celcom very much. Until I ca't get 3g signal at my home in ipoh.

And also, always failed to topup my phone. Hard to subscribe the prepaid plans as well. Always: service not available, try again later.

Headache bout celcom's system. But the call quality is awesome.

Wow really? I thought their reception is pretty good.

When I used the prepaid service it was dirt cheap & such, so I went on the postpaid.

Only thing I don't like is the fact that I get weak reception IN MY OWN HOUSE. Unless I turn on 3G, but even then it isn't strong in all areas of the house.

Wth la right? It's superb everywhere. Except. My. Own. House.

BUT.... my bills are cheap, and I cant seem to go over the limit.

Once you want balance combination depends on you right?

Umobile prepaid RM28 100 minutes call, 30 SMS, 500 MB data (cap at FUP but unlimited after that at slow speed)

Maxis textmore 28 200 free SMS, 100 minutes call, no data, have to add money for data which will not be unlimited

Depends how much you use....

regarding the UMI28 prepaid plan, http://www.u.com.my/prepaid/unlimited-mobile-internet

what happens if, lets say I finish the 30 sms in less than 1 month, but my calls are still below 100mins and data below 500MB, does it mean I need to reload again to continue sms?

or another way around is lets say I finish using 100mins call in less than a month, does it mean I need to reload again to continue making calls although 1 month not up?

and what are the reload amounts available? or is it fixed each reload must be RM28?

Hey guys, getting a Note 2 soon and I'm looking for a telco plan.. With or without the phone itself i'm fine.. I was previously using Hotlink Youth Club on a non smartphone so it wasnt really a hassle, but now I'm looking for internet.. Here's what I'm looking for, ranked by priority

1. SMS
2. Internet ( Just for light browsing and social networking, not heavy downloads)
3. Calls

Please guide me through process of finding myself a perfect telcon plan smile.gif thanks

You can reload any amount (RM30 better as it gives 90 days validity compared to RM28 I think only 60 days, or you can reload RM100) which will give you that amount of credit (or maybe bonus if got promo).

From your credit you can buy the UMI28 prepaid plan. So for example you got RM30 credit, you pay RM28 for the plan left RM2 credit.

If you finish 30 sms, your 31st sms (and all others) are charged from whatever credit you have (like in this case, RM2). Similarly for calls. You can of course add more credit anytime.

tl;dr - UMI28 is charged from credit, not from reload.

right thanks alot, very clear explanation.. finally understand how prepaid data plan works.. currently on postpaid U28 plan... considering whether to change, the only down side is 500mb instead of 1GB, but the free calls is really tempting, cuz my current usage per month is around RM35 per month...

I am planning to port from Maxis to Celcom due to bad signal at my home (Bdr Puteri). Currently on Maxis value plus internet 50 come with 100min voice+100sms+250M data. Can someone recommend me the similar plan in Celcom? How is Celcom 2g/3g coverage in Klang valley? How is their service compare to Maxis?
