I am browsing plans just now and I was wondering, let's say the package only provides 30 sms per month, how do they charge (prepaid/postpaid/monthly/end of contact) if you SMS more than that limit?

simple, you will be charged at normal rate, maybe 15sen or 20sen per sms.

I know that, but how do you pay for those extra SMS? Postpaid bill at the end of the month?

Depends, if prepaid you will not be able to SMS unless you got credit, it will use until your credit 0 then cut you off.

Postpaid just added to your bill which come out end of month. But that also got limit, depending on your plan (ex. my plan limit RM150, if my usage go above it will cut off) for some carriers like Maxis, I heard some others don't have, not sure.

I got a question, if I want to buy Galaxy Note 2 on Maxis' 3GB plan (add-on RM68 per month) can I still use textmore28? Because the website says add on to the value first or value 50/80/blah blah plans, not sure if must have those or can use textmore28 and add on RM68 and get the phone.

EDIT: bored at work so I called Maxis customer service, they said no problem to get textmore28 and add on RM48/month for 1 GB plan to get the Note 2 at discount price.

Just a short question. Is Umobile coverage okay? Do they roam on Maxis or Celcom network to enhance coverage?

In congested areas I still think U Mobile has its limitations. Have others tried Mid valley, Puchong Jaya or Bukit Bintang during peak hours. My experience are many drop calls and difficult connections in those circumstances as of last 2 weeks.

I have MNP from Digi to Umobile and compare to Digi it's 10x better! Occasionally will get the R sign but very seldom. FYI, I only use around Klang Valley.

Currently using two telco, both r prepaid. One is umobile and another is maxis hotlink.

Pricing, umobile will be cheaper. Even blackberry plans are cheaper than hotlink. Hotlink very expensive!

Coverage, of course maxis 3G signal better. Can get 3G in every major town or places. Seldom to go kampung area.

Umobile signals are good as well, can get 3G signal in major town, 2G signals are good. Now umobile roam on maxis line if there is no umobile home coverage. But umobile's line a bit unstable, especially when outside is raining very heavily, drop call. With maxis or celcom, no problems at all in making calls when outside is raining.

Celcom pulak, it used to be the best coverage, but nowadays I don't think so. Besides of lousy customer service, prepaid also vry hard to use especially when u want to subscribe something. Always says service not available. That's why my bb using maxis.

In terms of speed, umobile and maxis is good.

Digi is terrible! Poor signal especially indoor, slow speed, the pricing also no longer the cheapest.
I saw my aunt using digi prepaid, she can't even make a proper call and most of the time hardly to contact her. But her plan can make free calls to 3 buddy. Besides of this, digi is disappointing.

My choice will be umobile»maxis»celcom»digi
I will wait until my hotlink youth prepaid expired, will mnp my hotlink to umobile.

If I want to use Umobile, then best is set my phone to use Umobile when on 3G but just let it roam on Maxis network when on 2G? (I suppose there's a way to achieve that with Android)

How unstable could Umobile be? Trying to get a data plan for my mum but if Umobile will be difficult to troubleshoot or bear with, I'll rather pay more for stable line on Maxis/Celcom.

If u r always live in the town, u can lock the network to 3G mode. I don't do this because if the 3G signal really bad, my phone will need to use more battery to catch the 3G signal. I just let my phone to pick up the signals automatically. Overall. My phone can always connected to 3G.

I am using nokia C7 for umobile prepaid. Sometime my phone can't connect to the internet automatically, need to do manually. Plus I noticed that if making calls when outside is raining, the call's quality will not that clear and sometime will disconnected.

But so far, I am very satisfied with umobile. Cheap and good speed.

Thanks for the information. I guess that's not good enough for me - prefer stability over speed.

Hi All,

Happy New Year 2013!!!!

May I get some advice? My iPhone4 two years contract with Digi will be ending soon in mid Jan 2013. I don't plan to get a new phone because my phone is still working fine.

I think I under-utilize the current plan. My monthly internet usage less than 2G in a month. Talk time less than 400 mins per month (I guess).

I am thinking to switch to Maxis because Maxis coverage seems better in the area that I stay/work.

Any advice?

Realised Maxis dun have plan to cover
Internet 2Gb + Talk time 200 mins.

Don't know much bout maxis postpaid. I am using prepaid for my blackberry. Kinda good but a bit pricy.

Celcom good coverage, but sometime hard to make calls(although full bar signal), hard to connect to the internet,
And also very bad customer service. I hate repeating hello hello or har? Har? Har? While I was calling. Lol. Sorethroat u know. This situation even worse to digi users in my area.

Digi in my area vry bad. Dropped call. No signals inside the house.

Since your contract still valid til june, u have lots of the time to consider about it.

Surfmore RM50 is ONLY for data.

If value first RM30, the RM48 is for data and the RM30 covers phone/SMS. If your usage really 0 ringgit for both of those then of course not worth, but most of us at least will use RM30 in that I think, so if surfmore you still need to add on RM30 above the RM50.

Hi guys, few questions here about the iValue plan. Is it possible if I want to take the iValue Simple, want to take iPhone 5 but insist on microSIM instead? Find that the plan is very worth it and I am an Android user. Probably will just sell off iPhone 5. Also, will I be eligible to have supplementary line?
