better subscribe their weekly plan first to check her usage using existing prepaid account. Celcom weekly charges is RM18 for 2GB. From there, you can estimate for monthly usage.
Personally, i think celcom i98 offer better value if you need data package. but of course, you need to buy the phone together.

Hi there, I wanna ask about Umobile's prepaid data plan. According to the website, it's RM28 a month with unlimited internet, 100minutes talk time and 30 SMS. That's very cheap compared to the other telcos!

But how come I seldom hear people using Umobile data plan? Does anyone else here use it?

i currently have hotlink prepaid which i had for almost 6years and im not planning to dispose it. Since it is my second number, i kinda have problem with its topup validity which only lasted 30days for RM30 topup which i didnt really need to use it as i already have my postpaid line.

any news for Hotlink??are they offer a service where they have longer period for the credit validity ?

Guys, did you guys get a msg from Maxis as well saying that it only costs rm1 for 1 hour for a call for today only.
Is that true?
Is it for only 1 caller or we can call as many as we can?
Is it only for that 1 hour and can it be spread to the whole day.

Just started using UM and seems quite OK. Get starter pack then add $30 and order internet package from phone. Must enable roaming so that it can switch automatically to Celcom when out of coverage area.

In case useful for anybody, there is an agent next to Giant Paramount and a big counter in the new SSTwo Mall which is now free parking.

I was with Maxis for 11 years, ok, 10 years and 10 months to be precise. I just moved to DiGi less than a month ago.

Why? I recently noticed that the (Value Plus 50) RM50 package I was using, Maxis only deduct calls/sms to Maxis numbers. You call/sms to other telcos, they charge you separately at a higher rate, whereas DiGi flat rate is call/sms to ALL NETWORKS (in Malaysia).

No wonder I keep having to pay extra when I don't really make many calls/sms.  I have been paying for it without noticing it (yes, I ignorant)...maybe because the total amount didn't quite pinched me hard enough.

So when I was looking for a new phone, looking into other telco phone packages then I realize I have been paying extras.  I have like RM20-30 burnt every month with Maxis. I got angry  mad.gif  my own fault for being ignorant.  So I switched....to DiGi Smartplan.  I get unlimited internet, and just pay per call/sms  rclxms.gif

Yes, DiGi flat call/sms rates are higher than Maxis, but LOOK CAREFULLY, DiGi rate is for ALL NETWORKS, Maxis lower rates is ONLY to Maxis numbers and Maxis only deduct to Maxis numbers from your monthly commitment amount, calling/sms to other telcos is extra charge, calling/sms to other networks cost HIGHER than DiGi's. Look carefully.

I made a simple comparison:

Maxis
Monthly commitment = RM50 - calls/sms to other telco you pay extra at a HIGHER rate.
Mobile internet = RM88 (3Gig) - exceed the limit you pay extra.
Total per month = RM138 (not including extras, which is confirm ada every month)

DiGi
Monthly commitment - RM68 (3Gig) - for REAL unlimited mobile internet, calls/sms - pay as you use.
Total per month = RMxx - surely less than RM100, based on my usage.
I am smart and I have a plan, so I use Smartplan thumbup.gif

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I'm now currently a Maxis supplementary line user. My average bill payment is rm110+ per month without data plan.
I've now own an Android smartphone. What i will do with it probably will be Checking email, Youtube, Facebook, surf the net, GPS! Navigating, calling and smsing only.
Is 100mb of data plan enough for me? or 300mb? I will only use to download stuff when there's wifi.
Which of the speed of internet will be suit to me... Will GPS need high speed internet for navigating on the road?

As the requirement stated above, which telco and plan should i go for?
My budget is around RM100/mth.

Your advise will be fully appreciated. smile.gif
