hi guy's i'd like some advice here. I'm currently using maxis supplementary line and i just got my first smartphone.

I am planning to get mobile internet. I generally use about only RM40 a month for calls and smses. I'm wandering if i subscribe to the DIGI 300mb/month at RM28 would it be enough? i'll probably use it for whatsapp, skype, emails, some gps and reading news.

And is DIGI reception OK? i know their price is good but i constantly hear a lot of problems about reception and no connection. This pushes me away and makes me wanna consider the Maxis 500mb which is more ex.

So i'd like to ask advice of sifus here - which should i go for? and do you think the maxis unlimited would also be worthwhile ?

ps: also take into consideration price of normal normal calls and smses as i'll still need to use them. Thx in advance everyone!

Bros,

I currently am on Maxis' 30 postpaid deal, but always is paying RM50-60, I see that I send roughly around 300-400 sms to Maxis line, and about 100 to others and phone call, I only use roughly 25 minutes per month to mostly Maxis line as well.

Is there any deals that I can get that would allow me to lower what I'm paying every month?

Anyone here can advise me a good package?

Will require internet unlimited usage. If its limited, 3gb should be more than enough.
Only receiving call but not gonna call a lot, so call/sms rates are not really matter much.

So far Digi RM68 unlimited package is very attractive but somehow main line already with Digi Business 150, thus I would like to have other telcos.

Digi phone coverage isn't the best, to have something like Celcom would be a great backup though. Even Maxis should be ok for me.

Anyone can recommend a good package for this kind of usage? Prepaid or postpaid will do, as long as its good smile.gif

Hey guys, what do you think about U-Mobile? How's the coverage/speed/3G quality and etc... compare to other telcos? Thanks.

Hi, I'm located in Kuching, Sarawak. Currently on a Maxis Value 50 + 500mb data plan. I also have my wife's supplementary line attached via Family Plus 30. So total commitment per month is RM128.00 My bill rarely breach RM150.

I'm now thinking of either changing my package or switching telcos. One reason is that I'd like to grab a new smartphone at the discounted price and increase the data plan. I hardly use my current Wildfire online...just mainly to read news over lunch...usage about 20 mb per month! Another reason is that I noticed that the RM30 commitment for the supplementary line doesn't seem to include calls! So it's RM30 plus whatever calls/SMS etc is made. I feel that's a bit of a rip-off!

Any opinions on what plans from Celcom to get? What about Digi? I'd prefer a data plan with minimum 1gb cap...if Digi I'd be sure to explode my data usage, ahahaha!

Why people keep asking the same questions here? The rate and plan is stated in all the telcos websites and even have FAQ . The truth is out there !

u should subcribe maxis vas, rm8 for 500sms to maxis...it is a good deal

i once use maxis 30, 100mb data(rm18), 500sms(rm8) = rm56 and my bill is around 60-70
so if u dont use data ur bill is 30 + 8 + 10(100 sms to other net) = rm48

and i think u should use prepaid..u dont use voice call so much

please help me optimised my telephone services

1st user (myself)
currently got 1 maxis line (no contract) just switch to DG smartplan 68 coz heavy use data /no calls = no problem/happy..

2nd user (my GF)
another maxis line(contract > November 2011), problem happen when this user when she need call more(data ok), especially call to friend long time (>5 hour per week) where i think is better they get 1 plan that suits them.
no problem maintaining the current maxis i think still got 1 cheaper way to do it.
her current line is Value Plus 50 + Data 500mb

i propose she sub 1 line under maxis (maybe get family plus- RM30, Get up to 15 hours of free voice and video calls between family lines, Get up to 1500 free SMS between family lines.)

or ask her fren get celcom exec and sub 1 line to her (family 1+5 = RM15)

or digi/umobile? have not survey... need help on this 1

or just ask them use viber(free call = LOL)

can somebody please help me decide between umobile prepaid vs tunetalk prepaid?

i am searching for my own use (getting an android phone soon) and for my aunt who is looking to buy samsung galaxy tab.

for myself: i have wifi at home, i don't usually call or sms much, and will probably use most of the data on the go for twitter, viber, and occasional web browsing. house is in usj subang jaya.

for my aunt: she already has celcom broadband so she doesn't want something with high monthly commitment. no wifi at home. the tab will mostly be used as her personal organizer (she's a doctor) and synchronizing her calendar. house is in kubang kerian, kelantan.

i saw that both list 5sen/1mb for data but is there anything else that makes one superior than the other?

I'm a frustrated and never ever will be Hotlink user.
Did you guys know, the hotlink number is 'terminated' upon the expiry date, you still can receive calls and sms for 14 days, but no longer able to top up and just wait for the number to disappear.
Digi has a 90 day 'cooling off' period, where if you top before the 90th day after the expiry date, you can still continue to use the line without forfeiting your balance.

i can only comment on your part because you are staying in usj. I was in the same dilemma between tunetalk or umobile. this is the reply that i got from asking at soya cincau
QUOTE
However you need to monitor how does your phone connect to the net. In the PAYU of 5 sen per MB, the minimum block is 5 sen per MB. So if your phone connects and disconnects each time it checks for updates, you could be paying more as its charged 5 sen per connection regardless of how small the transfer is.
original link is here http://www.soyacincau.com/2011/06/07/u-mob...ew-15gb-option/
in the end you'll end up paying more. I am current using Umobile prepaid rm28/month unlimited mobile internet+free 100min calls+30sms

tbh, it is a very good deal, the 3g speed is very fast, getting around 3mbps, with tunetalk, you'll only get edge which is very slow. if you dont fully use the 100min call, the balance is carried forward to the following month.

Very light userlooking for cheapest plan. One of the problem with pre-pay is u need to topup after credit expired, even though still have plenty of credit left. So looking for

1. Longest credit period
2. If possible cheap online cost
