Answer to borgun's post if can get any, will be interesting.
I guess I am on "old" Hotlink. Can I switch to New with the same number?
Please help with another question: Which company gives the least expensive way to maintain a seldom used prepaid? E.g. Repeated RM5 top up per longest validity period.

QUOTE(Apis_LuaLua @ Jan 12 2011, 11:51 AM) i m frequent texter.. any postpaid plan that offer cheap sms rate? Try MostSMS.com for free PC to phone within Msia. This cuts down SMS bill so much that I don't worry about an occasional whatever full-price message. Some people warn about spam but so far nothing. Maxis worse, has daily ads. 111

QUOTE(Fizzy-Fiz @ Jan 24 2011, 02:00 PM) guys im a frequent texter and quite so for calls. currently using prepaid with usage around RM50, celcom. most of my contacts are so i would like to retain my telco. here's my question, can i switch to any postpaid plans which would make me eligible to phone subsidies(like digi's iphone plan) with max usage of 60/month? i really want to keep my no. A foreign friend left behind a Tunetalk SIM. It seems like a quick email check, update news app or quick check of a webpage only uses up 5 sen each time. A leisurely session used up 15 sen. I couldn't believe it was so cheap. Then I put back my Maxis prepaid and before I noticed the 3G blocker app wasn't on, 10 ringgit was gone, just updating routine stuff in the background. If you want to try, a new Tunetalk only costs a few ringgit. It might be all you need. Later you can switch your number over to them too. 111

QUOTE(WiLeKiyO @ Jun 1 2011, 12:26 AM) Which telco provide cheapest prepaid internet plan ? Use less then 100MB/month. Currently cheapest is U Mobile RM28 unlimited right ? Just started using UM and seems quite OK. Get starter pack then add $30 and order internet package from phone. Must enable roaming so that it can switch automatically to Celcom when out of coverage area. In case useful for anybody, there is an agent next to Giant Paramount and a big counter in the new SSTwo Mall which is now free parking. 111

Any comments about XOX coverage in KL-PJ? Any better/worse than U-Mobile?
Very low profile except in Johor?

Beware of the pushy and rude China Unicom counter at Guangzhou airport. The SIM they sell is overpriced and maybe cannot be used in other parts of China where you are going, or not for international. If you can wait until you get into the city, get advice from locals on which one to buy.

QUOTE(falzehope @ Nov 18 2012, 09:17 PM) i hope someone can suggest me on the cheapest prepaid plan nowadays i will not be using it too much on call, mainly for sms and maybe a little browsing what im looking for is long validity of the credit so i dont need to top up every week just to keep my credit alive Consider TuneTalk One Year for $38 + $10 min starting balance. Others must top up more within 6 months. International roaming. On demand data use is cheap but might be slow and sometimes quirky. Check website. 111

QUOTE(Jason @ May 31 2014, 10:05 PM) Then sign up for Validity 365 for 1 year. I think its reasonable that your line must be active to have free data. If your line not active how to give free data? 365 not allowed for #Hotlink

Consider Tunetalk annual prepaid, no 6 month topup required.

Tunetalk annual
Of course prepaid will expire as normally. You must pay extra for the annual validity.
Unless it's changed within the last few months, look on the website. Or ask live chat.

Get a TT SIM, pay for 365 days, physically swap in and out when you need data, starts at midnight 24 hrs. for 88 sen 50mb (plus 10 sen SMS each start/stop). Careful, auto-renews at midnight. Other times, 5 sen for quick bytes, no package.
Maxis: does your plan have annual? If new Hotlink, no annual, then consider Rm10 7days once in a while. If you finish the high speed quota, still got free 24 hr 64kb slow connection, and number validity 50 days.

QUOTE(ErgoProxi @ Sep 15 2014, 03:18 PM) just wandering. Hotlink give free 64kbps internet as long as the number is active. So if one bought the 1 year validity, will one have free 64kbps internet for 1 year? YES *as long as active* meaning you must keep topping up. For prepaid new #Hotlink, no 1 year validity possible.

QUOTE(ErgoProxi @ Sep 19 2014, 06:13 PM) so 6 months validity still exist? Dunno about such a plan. Maxis prepaid only works by 50 days each time you reload, non cumulative. Be sure to check website for up to date info.

QUOTE(ErgoProxi @ Sep 19 2014, 06:49 PM) how much reload needed for 50 days validity? Buying outside usually Rm10 but maybe smaller amounts possible via online banking. Note the active period when you can use the money in your balance is only 7 days for Rm10, then you get 43 more days validity, no outgoing service. Probably not practical unless you have a dual SIM phone or if you are ok with average Rm1 per day non-recoverable cost for active.
