Hi guys,
need your help in recommending a suitable telco & plan suitable for my usage. I have a sub line and for myself, I mostly use 3G and sometimes call (nowadays <1.5GB data) and my sub line's usage is usually calls and some 3G (around 1GB).
the thing is, for the sub line, the calls are mostly international (calling to vietnam). which telco & plan would be best for calling to vietnam, while being decent in calling local numbers as well as having some 3G?

QUOTE(noruazumi @ Jul 24 2013, 03:25 PM) I am currently on Celcom postpaid with RM68 mobile internet. Monthly bills are averaging from RM120 to RM150, inclusive mobile internet. Been wanting to change from Celcom since it has been acting $hitty for more than a year now. 3G signal is so weak and Edge is almost non-functional. 3G/Edge signal keeps switching. Complained to SKMM and all Celcom wrote was asking me to manually switch to Edge for more stable connection. Dafuq, right? So was thinking to switch to U-Mobile. What do you think? if you live in klang valley/city areas should be ok. but to confirm whether ur area have umobile 3g. i suggest u head to any 7eleven or 99 speed mart to get one prepaid number for trial. fyi, umobile 2g signal is roaming into maxis network. so if yr area do not have good umobile signal, then just get maxis surfmore 50/75 with purely data plan only 2gb/5gb respectively. at least its more stable and speed is fast

hi guys. i just bought my first smartphone Samsung s2 (what a loser, i know ) previously using SE x8 now i need the internet most of the time. and travel a lot. so need good coverage. right now im on x2 plan. the flat 28sen/3min. (if not mistaken, it was 28sen/10minit ) so im using the weekly broadband rm18/week. just wondering is it ok to stick to celcom weekly or shud i take the rm68 plan? because let say rm18 x 4 weeks = rm72. rm 4 more. and also, 1 week is 1gb if not mistaken. and how is maxis coverage and speed compare to celcom?

Hey Guys, i want to ask, does anyone know the speed of Umobile phone data?
Im using maxis, and the speed using HSDPA is about 2Mbps, (or download speed 200kb/s)
Anyone know how fast Umobile is?
Im thinking of changing to UMI-28, only 500mb, but it gives free calls.

Now im only using 100Mb for RM18, and i run out very quickly. After that its Rm 0.30 for every Mb. I thought about upgrading the data, but it looks expensive to me. Especially since some months i almost never use data.

Getting Started

|
Hi. Need recommendations for Telco change for me and maybe my gf.
Currently using Celcom postpaid under supplementary plan together with my gf - get free calls (??? min) and SMS (??? SMS) with a RM15 monthly commitment. (sorry, couldn't remember the amounts). Also bundled in a RM58 data plan for 3GB.
Monthly usage mostly for local calls (mostly to gf and call home - approx 10-15 hours/month), SMS (mostly to gf - approx 200-300 / month) and data about 2GB+ per month. Usually don't reach 3GB.
Wanted to change as been having problems with Celcom lately. Sometimes while talking, the signals become poor all of a sudden and I couldn't hear the speaker clearly. Also some people informed me they couldn't call me at all, but I did not receive any missed calls or missed call notifications. (to note I am in Kelantan, will be moving back to Kedah soon; gf seldom have such problem but seeing she's in Klang Valley, maybe that's why there are less issue)
What's the worse is the data plan. Even if it is on H/H+, there is no data transfer at all. The line is really slow. And if it goes down to 3G/G/E, it's even worse. The line is also very unstable and occasionally turns off and on again on its own.
Really irritated with this and really would like to consider changing to a different Telco. Any recommendations?
Previously was a Maxis user, but changed to Celcom because of the supplementary plan for free calls and SMS so that me and gf can call home and each other more often.. Now really regret changing..

Digi provides quite cheap data for prepaid as low as rm5 for 5days whatsapp n simple fb but speed wise is slow as 384kbps Maxis on other hand have few package also for their hotlink but speed no capping n as fast as postpaid users.

I'm currently using DiGi Campus on my still-going-strong HTC Incredible S which monthly uses would be around RM10-RM15. Sometimes even lower.
Now I want to sign up a data plan to be used while at work / travelling.
I predict that I would require around 1GB of data only per month, as I already have fibre connection at home. So the data plan is for on the move consumption only.
My location is at USJ Subang Jaya, but I hope the coverage is wide so that I could still use it if I'm back to Perak hometown or travels.
btw, I want to keep my number if switch telco.
