I need a postpaid data plan that has literally widest coverage, fast, stable connection for at least 2GB p/month mainly use for tethering over my laptop. Voice plan is second priority for now.

Any suggestion?
Celcom? lol

Thanks.

take maxis surfplan 2gb per month @rm50 with throttle down after data exceed. speed stable in most area. speed averaging on 2-4mbps and if off peak hours can reach up to 6-8mbps in some area.. or umobile as their package quite good.

hello guys, need some help here.

im a heavy internet user, i seldom call or sms, currently using hotlink prepaid, thinking to change to maxis postpaid/digi postpaid.

kinda tempted to change to digi smart plan since they are having promo by doubling the internet data now. any advices???? biggrin.gif

if speed is not your concern then digi smartplan will definately suitable for you as the speed averages around 700-1mbps. for all three plans 48-1gb/2gb,68-3gb/5gb,88-5gb/8gb.. . *there are possibilities of achieving faster speed at 2-5mbps for new subscribers as found out from two of my friends using smartplan tested with my earlier 68 smartplan.

maxis postpaid- you can take surf plan 50=2Gb, or surfplan 75=5Gb per month. no bill shocks and speed will throttled down up to 64kbps once exceeded data. speed vary from 2mbps-4mbps easily and some areas can achieve up to 8mbps.

I am currently on Celcom postpaid with RM68 mobile internet. Monthly bills are averaging from RM120 to RM150, inclusive mobile internet.

Been wanting to change from Celcom since it has been acting $hitty for more than a year now. 3G signal is so weak and Edge is almost non-functional. 3G/Edge signal keeps switching. Complained to SKMM and all Celcom wrote was asking me to manually switch to Edge for more stable connection. Dafuq, right?

So was thinking to switch to U-Mobile. What do you think?

if you live in klang valley/city areas should be ok. but to confirm whether ur area have umobile 3g. i suggest u head to any 7eleven or 99 speed mart to get one prepaid number for trial. fyi, umobile 2g signal is roaming into maxis network. so if yr area do not have good umobile signal, then just get maxis surfmore 50/75 with purely data plan only 2gb/5gb respectively. at least its more stable and speed is fast

Digi provides quite cheap data for prepaid as low as rm5 for 5days whatsapp n simple fb but speed wise is slow as 384kbps Maxis on other hand have few package also for their hotlink but speed no capping n as fast as postpaid users.

I'm currently using DiGi Campus on my still-going-strong HTC Incredible S which monthly uses would be around RM10-RM15. Sometimes even lower.

Now I want to sign up a data plan to be used while at work / travelling.

I predict that I would require around 1GB of data only per month, as I already have fibre connection at home. So the data plan is for on the move consumption only.

My location is at USJ Subang Jaya, but I hope the coverage is wide so that I could still use it if I'm back to Perak hometown or travels.

btw, I want to keep my number if switch telco.

2 options- digi smartplan 58. give u 1gb of internet and 1gb of social apps. and 100min of digi-digi calls and 100smses.

or

maxis surfmore 50- monthly RM50 for purely 2GB data usage only. calls and smses will be charge as additional.

in terms of coverage wise i will say take maxis as they have widest 3g coverage and most stable in terms of speed. if your area are mostly city like USJ subang and Perak like Ipoh town digi 3G should not be a problem.

probably stay with Digi first... cause most of my friends and family are using Digi.. almost few of them uses Maxis

i see. then the smartplan 58 is ideal for you as they give u free 200mins of calls & 200sms for digi numbers. smile.gif

Im currently using celcom postpaid plan at rm126 / month with unlimited data. If i switch to digi smart plan 88 is it ok? How is digi coverage these days?? Mainly using phone for calls, sms, whatsapp, facebook. Might consider using wave application once in a while after i upgrade from my bb to samsung. Any thoughts??

digi's coverage has improved alot these days. most of their indoor coverage like pavillion, outdoor - major highway like karak, north south, genting, sempah able to get good 3G coverage. speed wise not too bad on average 2-4mbps.
some area like melaka digi able to get full bars but maxis only 1-2bars

I'm looking to replace my used to be great prepaid but have gone shittyb telco, TuneTalk. speed is becoming horribly bad. remembered back then i used to praise TuneTalk for being fast and able to get strong signal in malls.

now I'm thinking to port to Digi, unlimited calls is as much a priority as the internet speed and coverage.

how much per gig is not of a concern for as long the speed is solid.

using it as my second line, maxis postpaid is my primary.

so is Digi good?

I have Maxis and Digi. Coverage wise both are good but sometimes Digi is better in some places where Maxis has poor 4G. Speed-wise Maxis is fast most of the time.
