I just want a bag actually. A sony mouse will be a plus. All other accessories I have already cos I own a "lousy-crap" acer previously.
So what you guys got with your Vaio(s)? Is there like some sort of fixed free gifts that ought to come with Vaio(s)?

And do you guys get your Vaio from SonyStyle or Sony retailers? Thanks and cheers!

All I know is, the vaio backpack is a fixed free gift

Sony Center usually gives a little bit discount, up to 2% I heard. However, ask more than 3 questions they will frown at you as if you have killed their father. laugh.gif

Buying at sony style is a different story. You can have all your doubt answered, in a professional way. Sometimes there's other free gifts thrown in, but not in the form of hardware.

bought mine at SonyStyle. during the time, have no promotion, so expect that i get none freebies, except the backpack. tongue.gif

I bought my FW from harvery norman at sunway pyramid and i get a bluetooth mouse =D can giv a try to ask from them.

So basically the bag is always included? And yeah, one shop said FW model gets a free BT mouse too. So I either have to be in luck or cry on my knees to get more free goodies lah.. biggrin.gif

I got one already! BTW, is for my gal lah... I stil using cheaplak Acer (tat had served me very well though).

Got that CW15 series and only had a Targus backpack tat is way oversized cos it fits 17'' easily. We "cried and begged" and only got a girl T-shirt (was nice one btw). No mouse no discount.

Together with 2 yr extra warranty at 280 (after 20% promo discount) - Total expense = RM 3579. (Hey still cheaper than my Acer 5 yrs ago!)

Has anyone checked out the PC Fair promotion yet since PC Fair is around the corner?

haha, pc fair or not, vaio dun normally hav discount much..damn i was planning to change to another model of vaio..planned to sell off my VGN-SR26GN..not dat it giving problem but i just like to change my desktop & laptop alot...like to get latest spec...hahahah

and mine now is a laptop at best..no kidding..bought for rm6k

Added on December 2, 2009, 3:42 amplease help..i really need back my VAIO "Switch", VAIOWebCam Companion + Magic-i™ Visuatl Effecs, etc software back...i upgraded to win7 ultimate but cant get back all these software.can anyone help or teach? thanks

im not sure about that, but have you try installing from the official website?

most problem is about the unusable Fn key, physical hotswitch key. some model has this problem solve (e.g: new BIOS update for VAIO Z solve the issue of the Fn key and NVIDIA graphic issues).

Atom Z540 consume less power and having higher clock, using GMA 500 instead the old one, GMA950 (Atom N280). i can say its performed slightly better than N.

Now still hesitating which model to get...
W series of N280 processors or X series for is lightweight and "just right" screen display.

Reasons for getting 11.1" for: Office works which include test tools and back home for p2p

Any better recommendations?

if you want only VAIO for the 11.1" inch, its either VAIO X, W and T series(soon to be discontinued). if other manufacture, i cant think of any, perhaps Acer Timeline?
i would take the X than the W, better specs. just that im not really a fan of Atom processor. the lowest i can go is CULV.

sorry i cant recommend other than those mention above.

Added on December 2, 2009, 11:08 pmbtw, if the tools doesnt require much graphic processing, i dont think you have a problem running with Atom processor. and for p2p, any processor would run, even the oldies celeron runs well.

Test tools which are more on processing power....debug mode, signal processing and logfiles analysis....

Guess the strong word for convincing "for p2p, any processor would run" biggrin.gif

Btw im not a Atom fan as well....guess PC fair and Sony Style will not have much price differ on the fix market value...

windows 7 is a way too good os to use if u have original 1 like mine, i'm using Ultimate edition, others i dunno..

warning: hot switch keys n some FN key function still not yet available as i'm too, still trying to find software for it similar to vista version.

get the latest vaio utilities software and install in this sequence (mine is vaio z and all the function key works fine)

CODE
Sony Shared Library 5.4
Vaio Event Service 5.0
Vaio Smart Network 3.0
Vaio control centre 4.0
Setting utility series 5.0
Vaio power management 4.0


you can get all this utilities software at sony vaio europe or US website, malaysia and singapore version check for the model number and prevent you from installing them.
