Any Vaio P user here upgraded to Win7? I did a clean install of Win7. Now looking on how to get all drivers in as the system not able to run Win7 drivers I copied to USB drive...

I asked my fren to purchase this pouch for me. USD24.99 with 8.75% gov tax and @ 3.5x rate.

It's better material than what u see in M'sia here.

Will only get this on her return at this month end.

I got an FE series model VGN-FE48G/H. Was wondering if the processor and graphic card can be change?

U better check at Sony Style, read their spec, their material, & dimension/weight.
Coz u never know what'll it be without see & get a hold of the physical part.

I think in M'sia, not much accessories for FW. For pouch, juz the model u saw only.

I am comparing the CS with the CW. The CS built looks nicer to me but CW like more powerful and more features and newer. So what u guys think.

Special feature of NW is the Quick Web-Access & off screen button.

Quick Web Access: Save u from the fussy wait time for booting up Windows. Quick web access allow u to surf web (only) within a few seconds.

Off screen: A button enable u instantly off the screen, saving power (I can do that with blank screen saver, set time to 1min ).

NW now is much better than previous batch, with dedicated vRAM & T6600 processor.

Was using my CS36GJ model just now, loud noise came from the upper left part of the laptop......the area where the ventilating fans are.....

And more vigorous vibration can be felt from that area.......

The laptop can still be used normally but the noise is freaking me out.....
The condition continued for a few minutes then only returned back to normal.......

I wonder what prob can this be??? HDD??? Or the fan???Or anything else???

By the way, I also realized that the CPU usage % is up to 60-80% all the time, eventhough I didn't open any applications......

Just wanna know if any CS model user has experience the same problem as me before.....

Wow CS3x model also suffers the same problem I thought only CS1x and CS2x

It's the fan.. Worst case scenario is, your VAIO will be shut down automatically, also because of the fan.

Send to the service centre and ask them to repair and do general checking and services. Another common problem for VAIO CS is the LCD screen keeps flickering (worst case) and horizontal lines at the top or bottom or both part of the screen. better send to the service centre before it's too late (warranty expired)

CS model has lotsa defects. This is the first VAIO i've seen that so many people sent to the service centre for the problem i've mentioned before. The CR model (previous model that replaced by CS) doesn't suffer this kinda problem.

Send directly to the service centre in North Point Midvalley for better and fast respond.

My laptop is having the screen flickering problem as well......although it's not serious.....

By the way, how long does the warranty cover???

Those features CW also have. The difference i see is the screen size 15 inch and the video card, ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 4570 Graphics. Plus 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM.
CW is 14 inch and video card NVIDIA® GeForce® G210M graphics processing unit (GPU), and 3 GB DDR3 SDRAM.
I know the ddr3 ram is better but what about the graphics card? Anyone know which is better?
CS seems got problem with fan but i kind of like the CS built and look. Decisions decisions.

Hello, I'm a Sony Vaio CR23 user.
I've changed my OS to window 7 pro 64 bits (from vista home x86). Window automatically settle every single drivers for me (except the memory card driver). It seem like no problem and everything is working fine.
The things is, I can't adjust my brightness through the "Fn plus F5 or F6" anymore and my AV button are all not functioning (those AV mode, Mute, Volume, Capture).

Yeah, I did a clean install of Win7 on my P25 and everything works fine except the brightness, volume, and scroll button did not work. Also instant on was gone.
Then I tried to recover back to Vista and perform upgrade to Win7, and have everything working. But I hate there are so many junk apps installed. I removed some but end up everytime i switch on, a Vaio setting window pop up, when I click next it unable to proceed further and give me error. Also tried to stop it from autorun when windows start but unable to do so too... have not find the right service to disable yet...

Now still deciding whether should go with clean install or upgrade. Both are not perfect and I'm having hard time to decide.

Clean install, fast boot up of Win7 HP in less than 1 minute, but unable to adjust brightness and volume, also lost Instant On.
Upgrade, have all features and functions working. But there is too much junk apps that makes the system slower...
