juz got my Vaio Z37GD. I have few questions to ask.
1. Why my battery stopped charging at 80%?
2. THe resolution is big...but everything appears small to me. How to fix?
3. Vaio recovering centre can restore ur laptop back to Factory image without the need of CD/DVD?
4. What is recovery disc for?

btw..add me to the list...the screen is nice biggrin.gif

of coz I remember you lo. lol

How does it works? Just insert the DVD when booting and let the Z do the rest. biggrin.gif

and do take speedfamgirl's advice seriously. The body is made out of Carbonfiber and the replacement isn't cheap. A body only for CS costs about RM 1,000+ at the service center. The Z body should cost more than RM2k.

lol, although it had been claimed the Z series has undergo a series of endurance test but still it's very fragile imo due to the LCD lid so thin! imagine breaking one of those it would be damn expensive to repair & looking for spare parts.

abit dissapointed with sony fw 46, so expensive yet still NOT using LED screen, though the LCD screen at max brightness looks good and is it true users still need to burn their own DVD?

What LED screen?
You know how much is LED screen a not?

And if you're talking about that Samsung LED TV priced cheaply, that's not an LED TV at all. It was merely a marketing gimmick went epic failed badly.

Burn what DVD? Recovery Disc? YES. Your own DVDs containing 3gp all? YES. icon_rolleyes.gif

try to reinstall/update the wireless driver? and also check the router/modem settings. sometime it due to connection. best if you try with direct cable and see how it goes. if its still drop, its either faulty modem/connection.

he was refering to LED backlight.
currently only TT, Z, SR and high end AW have this features. others still using single (eco) / dual lamp ccfl, known as xbrite tech with enhance from previous release (e.g: high definition color and screen resolution).

alrightall: yes, its a must do for future use if you are refering to Recovery Disc. though, the XP SP2 downgrade disc may be provided too (selected models).

The shop can burn for you, but you got to purchase three DVDs from them and have at least 3 hours to spare.

I bought fw33 in february this year and i added Kingston 2gb pc800 memory to a total of 4gb. i feel it lag a bit less. it is very responsive currently. just not sure whether it is just as responsive when it was still 2gb. it is in dual channel mode even though the original 2gb memory in my vaio is from another brand. check using a utility called cpuid or something like that. i forgot. so u can add another 2gb without worries. i think the max memory supported by fw33 is 4gb so u can't use two 4gb memory. and u need 64 bit windows to utilise that much ram which i don't think is preinstalled in fw33. besides it's redundant to have that much ram in a "weak" laptop. it's not a core i7 desktop. i still don't like the 5 second freeze when playing video files in CCCP players. my friend's cheaper compaq laptop doesn't have this problem. i wonder why premium laptops such as VAIO has this kind of problem when other "inferior" laptops is problem free and very responsive.
