just want some opinion b4 regret later.. lol

im not sure about that. the HD4650 1GB is good , maybe its available at cheaper price, like Asus, Dell perhaps.

edit: just now i try customize XPS Studio 16, its actually more expensive and poor spec (with bd writer, 512mb ATI HD3670, P8700 Core2Duo), than the FW..maybe Dell havent update their XPS Studio with HD4650 yet..

he was asking for opinion on FW46 anyway
yeah, Z absolutely good for mobile user or business exec, but for multimedia/gaming user, certainly FW/AW.

Sony Japan...

Each continent has their own line up. For instance, CS36 purple color isn't offered here, but it is offered in Indonesia.

yeah, same here. it suits my need for mobility and multimedia house. i always bring it to office for some office work, meeting and discussion with client; and when at home viewing movies, and some mild gaming.

hi everyone, i am new here and i will be getting my VAIO FW series soon. but i have some question to ask u all..

1. i am considering to buy between fw35 and fw46. i know the spec of fw46 is better but is it worth the price?
2. if i wanna buy fw46, where can i buy it? only through online? or i can buy it at sony style shop? can i buy from normal sony centre ?
3. if i wan to buy at sony style or sony centre shop (not online), do i get 0% interest installment with credit card ?
4. if i am going to change my OS, either from vista to win7 or vista to xp, do the drivers provided at the sony website ok for it ?

hope everyone can giv me some advice and suggestion. biggrin.gif

1. the later one worth. price ? this thing is really personal. most people said, sony tends to have "imba" price. but to me, im satisfied with its quality of product. the bottom line here, buy something that satisfied you. i havent survey other brand like Apple (new mbp), Asus or Dell, maybe you can do some homework for this.
2. both can. better buy from sony centre/ sonystyle, you can experienced the thing you gonna get. god knows, you might change the decision to buy after playing around the notebook at last minutes.
3. not sure about this, sorry. i think Arapan (family member here) bought via cc. try ask him.
4. maybe yes, maybe not. the driver support on sony is very poor. usually they will upload it, but late.

2. THe resolution is big...but everything appears small to me. How to fix?
3. Vaio recovering centre can restore ur laptop back to Factory image without the need of CD/DVD?
4. What is recovery disc for?

welcome to the club smile.gif
1. Try check at VAIO Control Center, then navigate to Power Management. click at the Battery Care , make sure you disable it to have it full charge 100%.
2. There another option for it , which select different dpi size. ive read about this, but people said its looks bad. i dont change it on mine, i live with it. already get used to it. about the way how to do, im kinda forgotten wheres the option.
3. Yes, theres an option for this to restore to factory setup, or just restore to factore setup on C drive. but i suggest better create the DVD Recovery just in case the restore process failed via EISA storage (Recovery hidden partition) on the half way.
4. To restore to factory setting, the system on your first boot up upon purchaing from Sony. the recovery disc hold the license keys including those Adobe software which absolutely useful.

Congrats on your purchase. Where did you buy your machine? Just ask the guy to teach you about your doubts. Whats the price? Heard the price had dropped coz of Z46 already out in the market.

Oh... March.
Coz brand new Z37 is as rare as hen's teeth now.

Yes. It's better to create a recovery disc. It takes about 2-3 hours to create and requires THREE empty DVDs.

yes, its a must do. the recovery disc created between each VAIO is unique, so the license key.
