i'm using FW33G currently. i leave it on 24 hours per day. my friend said new laptop motherboards have limited lifespan. is it true that after 6-7 months, the laptop will spoil? he said a technician at toshiba service centre said that to him when he went for repairs for his toshiba laptop.

I bought fw33 in february this year and i added Kingston 2gb pc800 memory to a total of 4gb. i feel it lag a bit less. it is very responsive currently. just not sure whether it is just as responsive when it was still 2gb. it is in dual channel mode even though the original 2gb memory in my vaio is from another brand. check using a utility called cpuid or something like that. i forgot. so u can add another 2gb without worries. i think the max memory supported by fw33 is 4gb so u can't use two 4gb memory. and u need 64 bit windows to utilise that much ram which i don't think is preinstalled in fw33. besides it's redundant to have that much ram in a "weak" laptop. it's not a core i7 desktop. i still don't like the 5 second freeze when playing video files in CCCP players. my friend's cheaper compaq laptop doesn't have this problem. i wonder why premium laptops such as VAIO has this kind of problem when other "inferior" laptops is problem free and very responsive.
