I bought fw33 in february this year and i added Kingston 2gb pc800 memory to a total of 4gb. i feel it lag a bit less. it is very responsive currently. just not sure whether it is just as responsive when it was still 2gb. it is in dual channel mode even though the original 2gb memory in my vaio is from another brand. check using a utility called cpuid or something like that.  i forgot. so u can add another 2gb without worries. i think the max memory supported by fw33 is 4gb so u can't use two 4gb memory. and u need 64 bit windows to utilise that much ram which i don't think is preinstalled in fw33. besides it's redundant to have that much ram in a "weak" laptop. it's not a core i7 desktop. i still don't like the 5 second freeze when playing video files in CCCP players. my friend's cheaper compaq laptop doesn't have this problem. i wonder why premium laptops such as VAIO has this kind of problem when other "inferior" laptops is problem free and very responsive.
*
yes, you need 64bit OS for 4gb ram support, but do mind that its advisable to get the same brand of ram instead of mixing with the factory ram. say buying 2gb ram Kingston must be pair with same 2gb ram Kingston, so you wouldn't have timing issue later.

having video lag is probably refer to codec use and also running program on background. i would like to suggest you to do clean install of video codec (cccp codec) and reinstall them again. and play the video via MPC instead of WMP. and also check the running program on background. maybe some unnecessary program running heavily behind thus making video playback lag.

Can i send a pic from handphone to my fw33 by bluetooth?
I try to "on" the bluetooh on my laptop, but dunno how
*
yes you can. i just give some common way here.
1. turn on bluetooth on VAIO.
2. turn on bluetooth on hp and let it discover the bluetooth point (in this case your PC name will be appear).
3. choose the pc name and connect. first time connect will require you to choose the security key. just type any key you prefer on PC. and key in same key on the phone.
4. transfer start.
5. check the file inside My Document, under blootooth folder.

anytime.

btw, seem i was wrong in earlier post. theres a refresh for low end FW4 series, namely FW43.
price starts at RM3599 and the specs, you guys can view it here:
http://corp.sony.com.my/vaio/vaio_fw43.html

for fw46 from the above site, theres a typo on ram capacity, which is, 4gb instead of 5gb and the graphic card (both model) is HD4650(iinm on FW43, but FW46 is confirm using this card) instead of HD3470..oh well, typo so commonly at sony site.

so the correct spec of fw43 is 2.1Ghz, 3gb ram ? very confuse wif it cos beside of the page show this

"VGN-FW43G/B
VAIO FW Series

Intel® Centrino® Processor Technology, Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor P9600 (2.80 GHz)

Model Features: 16.4" wide (WXGA++: 1600 x 900) TFT colour display (Clear Bright LCD [Rich Colour]), 5 GB DDR2 SDRAM*3 (upgradeable up to 4 GB*4), 400 GB*5 (Serial ATA, 5400 rpm).

RM 3,599.00"

it different from the specification.. but i think it laos cant possible be 2.8Ghz =p

FW4 (ATI 4650) = 5585 in 3DMark06 (Intel T6500 2.10ghz, 4gb DDR2 RAM) **author note: more scores if it use P8700.

Z series not for gaming. 9300m gs is just tiny upgrade from 8400 failure card. should have no problem.
you need to lower down the setting to play smoothly. i just complete playing cod4 with no problem (dont know which cod you are playing), but with low setting of course. check your total processes and running program on background. tweak your pc if possible so it would faster smile.gif

weird, ive no such problem for cod4 both in stamina (yes i do play them in this mode too ROFL) and speed mode, srsly..
maybe you can try all low in graphic setting and set to no AA and use the lowest available reso. if problem still persist, really slightly no clue whats up with your Z

about warcraft, dota i assume, maybe its something related to Vista compatibility?. best if you just using stamina mode only since Intel usually support oldies stuff and less hassle, or maybe try running it in directx 9? liek -dx9 in the shortcut trick?. i dont play this game..so no much comment.

btw to conclude out there, if you guys thinking buying Z just solely for gaming, you guys are wrong. 9300m gs is weak gpu to handle current game, and heat management on nvidia gpu/cooling system in Z not really good. if you want opt for gaming yet maintaining the portability i would recommend SR4 series in a heartbeat.

cheers smile.gif
ps: i still love Z anyway.

edit: i tried playing in stamina mode...and WTF...it ran smoother!!....shyt..wht problem?
