hi everyone, its been a while...

i would like to ask if anyone can tell me how to know ur GP is going to give birth? got signs like she will stay only in 1 place in the cage, or she'll wheek or whine aloud? i cant tell when my YUi is going to deliver. i'm worried her pregnancy took too long to finish. last 2 days i tried to touch her stomach at the side and she like squeal as if i hurt her, then when i try to hold her for closer look she will try to avoid my touch, then whe i try to lift her she'll squeal when i touch her belly...gosh i'm so worried...is she in pain?

and is it normal for pregnant sow to lose their fur in some part of their body? my Yui's ankle area is almost bare, and her skin felt dry to my touch...is this normal? can pregnant sow can be treated for her skin problem or should i wait till she finish deliver then start the treatment?

Help, i'm so worried about Yui.... icon_question.gif

I find it weird that they are fighting.. they got along fine before this rite? If you can do a divider within the cage then that's the best option.. they still keep contact with each other and can touch within the divider and no one gets hurt, BUT only do this if they are fighting til things get too rowdy. But it will cut space for them to run around or alternatively get a bigger cage so that one can get away from another.. If they are just fighting like not so bad, then i suggest leaving them as it is for the meanwhile but you will need to supervise. Or separate them everyday and put them together at nite and see if they still fight.. do this until it stops tongue.gif

It is a common misconception that two male guinea pigs will fight. Compatibility between two guinea pigs is determined by the personalities of the individuals rather than their gender... Some piggies will fight with any pig, but the vast majority delight in having a companion. Usually males fight if there is a sow in the clan.. other than that.. they are all good thumbup.gif
*
Thanks for the reply Sugar,my both piggies are females and Bugsy getting more aggresive now...Today I saw Bubble's eye got a red dot and just realize that it is a bite mark...then should be bugsy bite her lo...i checked no bleeding...I temporarily separate them in different cage...when I separate Bugsy , she just enjoy herself alone at another cage...but Bubble will scream for Bugsy....Maybe see how tomorrow....Will piggies get jealous at each other?Bugsy are biter too always bite me when she dun like something...I rarely see them popcorning lately...I am wondering why.
The bathroom mat alot being sell in Jaya Jusco today....got one piece at Rm7.90 and a few pieces i think aby 5-6 pieces at RM15.90 if not mistaken...Alot of ppl using BC nowadays...yeah expensive but really good in absorb pee...Will update you guys abt the gals tomolo....

Be gentle with them....just pet it and talk to it...and tell it wat u want to do and slowly pick up the feet and check the nails and take the nail clipper and just clip clip clip...smile.gif Good luck...

Hi Hitz, i taking Jasper to Ikano pet safari, u know inside Ikano pet safari do have a gromming shop and the name of the shop is Stylessentials. Trimming nail you ca actually get someone to help you to hold Blackie and you clip yourself or you may go to see Dr.Jenny and ask for her help and also you can do a general checkup and deworm for Blackie also.

I don't really recommand you to go grooming centre, because its really take long times and while waiting they might have others dogs bark or etc and it will stress gp. I dont think i will go for 2nd time since i spend alomost 2 hrs there and as my earlier thread, the dogs at there will bark and i can see Jasper is stress also. Lucky Jasper still can handle the stress or else........ sad.gif

The first few days aft we came back from grooming, i also worried abt Jasper and keep on monitoring him as i scared he will too stress and.......... sad.gif

Yeah, agreed with you dear, even the groomer also told me that there are some cases happen which the owner bringing their gp or rabbit for grooming and few days aft the grooming, the gp or rabbit die because cannot handle the stress. That why i very worries and feel to stop halfway while we are waiting the groomer to bath Jasper but lucky Jasper still can handle and i dont think i will go there again for 2nd time. Because after the grooming, i have been worries for few days.

When the SOW is due for delivery, she would hardly move, she will not whine aloud or wheek.

It is not normal that pregnant sow to lose its fur in some part of the body. It is better to treat the fungal problem now than passing the fungal problem to the babies. The shampoo I passed to you, is safe to use on pregnant SOW.

Hi Kaoru, dont worries too much as u stress Yui can feel it too and it is cause her stress also. I know it is hard to do it but just try your best. Honetly, Jingle has totally no symptom at all. I still can remember the day when she give birth, i was still having my supper in the morning of 2am as i was preparing my exam on that day. When i bring up my supper, i actually passing by her cage and she still wheek me for vegs and fruits. But in the morning abt 10am, she was already delivered 2 babies and she even has clean up everything, i cant see any sign of blood in the cage except there is a bit on the breeder celect breeding.

It is normal for preganat sow to have hair loss problem, as Jingle also the same. Even until today's date, i still can see that she is lossing a lots of hair but her skin still ok and there are no bare on her. Or maybe did you provide her enough of Vit.C?

Juztiny has already helped replying to kaoru nod.gif he has vast experience in delivering pups than all of us here i guess~ sweat.gif

Below are pics for vv001 who wanted to know how bedding arrangement should be like for GPs cages:-

Attached Image
1) Put the newspaper first- Not too thick, not too thin biggrin.gif

Attached Image
2) Put your bedding -- in my case i use fleece.. 2 pcs of fleece folded to fit the cage. Alternatives: Breeder celect, hay or you may skip this step if you want.

Attached Image
3) Put your bathroom mats

Attached Image
4) Breeder celect in your litter pan if you use any for your piggies. I use coz both of them are fully litter trained.

Attached Image
5) Place whatever hideouts for them.. In my case is home made hammock they sleep and hide under.. Sometimes sit on top of it doh.gif

Attached Image
6) Since they both behaved well in the pet carrier while i was cleaning their cage, they get their yum yums!!~ laugh.gif sawi, lots of celery and baby tomatoes!!

Dr Jenny generally don't do nail trimming.. Not for GPs even not for suggies sweat.gif deworm i think about RM11-15 inclusive of the checkup and consultation... can't remember. It's a good practice to deworm them every 3 months or so..
